I have been in my current warehouse space for 3 years. Every year a drop shipper or 2 , usually young, think that there fortune lies in one line sales with drop shipping.
I have offered my help to anyone who moves in and usually get some form of we are going to be smarter than you by drop shipping and not carrying inventory line.
Another one bit the dust yesterday as I watched him push his office chair with his junk on top.

Owkay. So you do not recommend drop shipping right? Have you ever met anyone who has being successful with drop shipping?
Being a new seller, I wouldn't recommend dropshipping.
I dropshipped for about 5 years and did pretty good, but you have to have good suppliers.
You also have to keep up with your suppliers stock so you don't sell an item that they are out of.
There's a lot of risk in dropshipping and it could end your selling career pretty quick.

Absolutely, I couldn't agree more. It is hard work to do it the right way and keep your customers well taken care of.

You are in Sri Lanka. That could present problems.

Would you say that shipping and handling all my items by myself is more reliable and convenient?
More reliable. You are not depending on someone else to package and ship.
Probably not more convenient -- you need somewhere to store your as yet unsold goods. And a way to dispose of unsaleable goods.
What kind of shipping services you would advice?
The postal system is cheap and goes everywhere. (The Universal Postal Union of 1874 covers the entire world.)
Couriers tend to be more expensive and if your customer is in a rural or isolated location, they will sub-contract your shipment to the post office.
