Dropdown lists

I've been looking everywhere to find out how to do this. If it's in Variations I don't understand the process. What I'm trying to achieve is creating a listing that allows me to create a list of all player cards available that buyers can see and select from the dropdown. I've played around in Variations but can't find a way to create a new list that will allow Select Player. I see lots of stuff for shoe size and color.

I'm very new to selling so everything is a learning curve for me. But this is a big deal for me. Step-by-step instructions would be awesome. I'm sure it's easy to do, but I'm clueless.

Okay, on main listing page, choose variations.  Then choose "add", then click "add your own attribute".   Name your variation Players, or whatever you choose. Then choose your attribute, and under "options" click create your own.  Each thing you name will pop over in the right window.  This will be your player variants.  Then the real work begins when you start taking pictures and pricing each variant.  Hope this helps.

Maybe this will help you.  First make sure you determine that you can have a variation listing in the category you need to list your item in as not all categories allow variation listings.
