Drastic Sales Drop---What do you do when you know it's a technical issue?

I don't know what to do. I have 100% Feedback, no issues, yet I've gone from selling around 100 a week to 1!!

I'm not a huge seller (1350 listed) but I have been steadily increasing my listings, keep on top of everything and they tell me I just need a "refresh". I was told they would "monitor" for 5 days. It's not my sales, it a technical problem. I will probably have to move to another platform this coming week. This is my full time job. Has anyone found a method of contact to get a resolution? Spent all day on this. 3 Months ago, my impressions dropped to 0. They didn't know why.

Wow. I've never used this forum before and I appreciate all the advise. I'm sure it will make a difference! I'm not very technically savvy, but I will learn. Just a note----I know it has to be technical issue in part because I listed 2 items-- Tiffany & Co Plate & Coke Bottle Collection for a 1 week auction with no reserve. They have only been seen 3 times each after 6+days.  When I look for them, even with the exact listing as I posted, they are several pages down even though they apparently did the refresh. And their technical experts don't know, don't care, or have no expertise or authority to make changes.

There is no refresh.

They just tell you that to get you off the phone.

Have a great day.

Nobody at eBay "refreshed" anything on your account.  Just a case of "tell you something" to make you happy.  a "blue" has stated that there is no "refresh" done by eBay.

If you're using reserve on any other listings, I'd advise you to get rid of it - it's probably one of the most unpopular 'features' on eBay, even back in the heyday of auctions.

The 'refresh' thing - you can probably do it yourself by doing bulk edit, change one thing, then change it back, though sell similar is better.  I would try the sell similar idea in batches rather than all at once so you can gauge what it's doing for you.  Agree with optimising your titles - front load your titles with good keywords.

Re: Drastic Sales Drop---What do you do when you know it's a technical issue?

What is the difference in titles for those two items you listed compared to the sellers at the top of the search results? Are you searching all formats when you look or just auctions? What is your account standing are you above or below standard? Your not using social media to help you. For instance linking your items to a Pinterest page would get more eyes on your listings. How often do you list new items? How old are your oldest unsolds? Why are you listing those in auction and not fixed price? How many repeat buyers do you or have you had? I don't think its a technical issue. I think pay per click beta may have pushed you down because other sellers maybe using this program to get seen ahead of you.

Re: Drastic Sales Drop---What do you do when you know it's a technical issue?

Going only by your Feedback Left for Others, you left about 1100 FB in the past year, and 59 in the past month.

That is definitely a drop, but not as great a drop as you are feeling.

It's also only about 20-25 sales a week for most of the past year.

Take another look at your actual numbers, rather than what you think are your numbers .

And again, compare with 2019 and 2018, for actual comparables.

This is also why I recommend dealing with eBay staff on Chat , FaceBook or Twitter. First because those reps are actually working for eBay (the phone reps are subcontractors) but mostly because you can read the transcripts and see what they actually said, not what you think they said.

Any dropoff is a shock and hard to deal with, but be sure you understand what the drop is, then work on fixing it.
