Downgrading the eBay Store Subscription

Presently I have an Anchor store subscription which allows for Fixed Price Listings in Book category to list 10,000    + 75,000 listings for free.

I am thinking about downgrading my subscription to Premium Store. Premium stores for Fixed Priced Listing in Book category allow for  1,000 + 50,000 listing for free.

My question - if I downgrade - am I going to get the Premium store 1,000 + 50,000 listing for free?

Did any body did it and can you share your experience.

Regards,

Sam

lst.........be sure of when you downgrade, as if you pay on a yrly basis you could have to pay under the remaining term of the contract........

The listings are free for the the Premium Store, but you do pay the monthly charge for the Prem Store........

There are some advantages to the Anchor store also.....be sure to check them out before you cancel......  I believe Concierge is one.

Thank you.

I am aware of the cancellation fees - my main question - will I get in the Premium store  1,000 + 50,000 listing for free or only 1,000 (since 50,000 was a managed payments promotional?).

Did you did it yourself or know anybody who did it?

I downsized to a Basic store from a Premium store and still get the extra 10,000 listings.   I also timed it when my yearly subscription was ending.

There must be a hundred help files and topics covering this change over.

Ebay said the upgrade in free listings was permanent, but you've been here long enough to know......permanent may not be permanent forever.

Better half went to Basic from Premium and works fine....with the 10,000........

The bonus free listings in select categories are part of the basic fee structure for all store subscribers who are in managed payments. It's not a temporary promotion.

I'll say it again, these listing are MARKED as promotional. A Promotion is just that, it's not part of your store subscription and NOT noted in your store structure. A "promotion" can end whenever the "giver" of the promotion decides NOT to give it anymore.

They could change the categories for these "promotions", the amount of the "promotional" listings, or raise your subscription fee to compensate for the listings. We do not have an iron clad contract. eBay can change ANY of it, at ANY time. So while the thought of this being "permanent"  sounds nice, not one thing is permanent here.

Whatever reason they chose the certain categories they did, could easily change in the future.

The word promotion does not appear on the basic fees page that I linked to. I have never seen eBay change the terms of the regular fees page without giving plenty of notice. These extra free insertions are as permanent as any other aspect of the eBay fees structure.

Just a couple other things to consider.

We downgraded from our anchor store a couple years ago and sales nearly died. I think they would have recovered some after a couple months but didn't want to wait.

Anchor stores get top quality Customer Service. Usually less than a minute to get an English-speaking ebay expert. I think lesser stores get pushed off to the Philippines.

And, like someone else noted, we sign up yearly at a reduced rate. So if you cancel before that year is up you owe all the extra money. It's possible that cancelling could cost more thank keeping it for the extra time.

"if you cancel before that year is up you owe all the extra money. It's possible that cancelling could cost more thank keeping it for the extra time."

The early termination fee is a percentage, based on how many months are left in the year commitment.  The TOS for stores has a chart showing the amount of the "Early termination fee" based on the subscription level and the months left.
