Done with eBay

I am in total agreement with living without EBay but AMAZON is the same **bleep**. They stand behind their buyers (who are scam artists and so forth) and the seller is considered the **bleep**donating our lost money into making their company larger. Today I ended my experience also. I sold a lot of 16 books mostly NEW but advertised as used, took pictures of everyone one as a few had some turned up corners. Buyer received them telling me they wanted a refund as the books were horrible and smelled and had water damage (which they didn't) as they were wrapped in plastic. Their pictures they sent to eBay did not match any of the pictures listed on the auction page. eBay refunded the money even though I disagreed as their pictures were profiles of random books that you couldn't see the covers with crinkled pages.
So I called eBay today as I THEY arrived damaged and said I wanted to complain about this as they did not look like my books and further they gave him a first class label for 10 lbs of media mail. The person at EBay said I had to refund the money before I could dispute it so I did. He then said he would email me forms to sign disputing the Transaction. He then transferred me to the disputes dept. I then got transferred to PayPal who told me they had nothing to do with this and that now the case was closed because I refunded the money.
very angry and **bleep** at this point, I called eBay back and they said the same thing. CASE CLOSED BECAUSE I REFUNDED THE MONEY and never got any dispute forms via email. Do they think we are all STUPID AS OBVIOUSLY WE FALL INTO THEIR TRAP OF BELIEVING THEM BECAUSE THEY WORK AT EBAY. I said "you just lied to me". And they said "so now you are disputing and we r still denying it". AND WHY DO THEY ALL SOUND ALIKE, SAME ACCENT.
IM DONE!! The buyer was ignorant because I asked him to send me pictures of the water damaged box, and he said he will just wait for eBay to refund him(as he already knew they would) and told me to f.....off 3 different times. Again EBay doesn't acknowledge any of the complaints u give them. Do they even look. Im going to get rid of anything else i have to sell . I want to see eBay go out of business.

Re: Done with eBay

I agree with fash.   I've sold a lot of books on ebay - I only list books as "new" if they are shrink wrapped from the publisher and never list books as "like new".   I also describe any flaws in my listing and list as "very good condition with just minor shelf wear" if I see no flaws.   I prefer to lower a buyer's expectations when it comes to condition.

I wrap all books in a plastic bag which will prevent most water damage, but not all.    No matter how well books are packaged if they are shipped media mail they are often going to encounter rougher handling and it won't take much for a box of loosely packed books to sustain some internal damage.    I once had a box of books arrive with tire tread marks on the damaged box.   Stuff happens with any delivery system.

Now while I list a no return policy,  I will usually authorize a return if the buyer is not satisfied with their purchase as long as they make their dissatisfaction known upon receipt (especially with books) - not a month later.    I believe that the majority of ebay book buyers are honest so I will give them the benefit of the doubt and not assume they are trying to scam me if they complain.   I prefer to solve any problem with a buyer without ebay's customer service involvement as I've had far more experience dealing with customers and ebay's policies than must cs reps have.

Anyone who sells online long enough will encounter problem buyers, and sellers aren't perfect either. Things have really changed in the ecommerce world since ebay was born.   I have seen people buy six pairs of shoes online with the intention of returning half of them, and large retailers have made this type of online shopping "acceptable".     One can either adjust to dealing with the occasional problem or leave.  However,  the grass probably won't be any greener elsewhere.

Re: Done with eBay

YOU SHOULD ADD THE BUM EBAY BUYER AND PUT HIS EBAY SCREEN NAME OUT HERE FOR EVERYONE TO SEE AND WE SHOULD ALL ADD HIM TO OUR BLOCKED BUYERS LIST

You've obviously never read the guidelines to post in this community. You can't name and shame here.

all I can say is if I don't like a website or it's upper management I would just leave and never come back, I wouldn't go whining on a forum on said website about it, I guess I just don't understand the logic behind it, do they hope their posts will cost the company extra money or something as in costing a company money is their revenge?

I think it's basically the written equivalent of stomping out and slamming the door behind you. Smiley Happy
