Heya experts. New seller here. Just listed an Xbox 360. My first item that's fairly pricey. I was wondering if you'd take a look and let me know if I made any rookie mistakes or if there's anything I should add/subtract/correct.
Any advice/critique would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Good job! Make sure you read up on known scams on this board. You may find scammers trying to send you messages that they paid for something when they have not. Only ship after you confirm the funds are in your account. Make sure you are weary about best offers some of them can be scams to. But other than that you did a good listing try a few more lower priced items as well.

Also i just noticed you have pic of what looks like a monitor ? items that are not included should NOT be in the Pics! buyers are looking for ways to scam free stuff and will target you with a NAD on this and will not make any difference if it is not in your description!

The listing looks good! You provided good photographs and even hooked it up to a monitor to show that it's working (I agree with the other comments stating that "the monitor is not included" to thwart selling this item to an idiot) . Your text includes an accurate description which is paramount when selling used items. You may want to consider editing the listing to included FedEx as a shipping option (or the only shipping method). I've been selling on eBay for the last 20 years and I don't find offering "free shipping" necessary to make the sale. In any case offering free shipping needs to be considered in the starting or asking price of anything (especially it the parcel is heavy/large). Free shipping is, IMO, only viable on small and lightweight items. If the item is heavy/large then the shipping cost will vary greatly depending on the buyer's zip code. I would edit the listing and "compare shipping prices" and see if FedEx can ship it for a lower cost. The cheaper the shipping cost the more likelihood of a sale and the seller pays less Final Valuation fees. I don't personally sell video game consoles but I'd venture to say that FedEx could ship this item cheaper than the USPS. Good luck!

Hello and welcome! Didn’t see anything wrong with your listing, except for what the other poster said about not showings pics of items not included in the listing.
My advice is to read the policy concerning the eBay Money Back Guarantee, and PayPal Buyer Protection so you will not be surprised in case of a return. Even tho you have a No Return policy, the MBG terms supercede it. Below are the links to both policies. Good luck to you in your selling efforts!

The shipping cost seems way out of line. Can't that unit fit into a USPS Medium or Large Flat Rate Box? That would include the tracking and insurance and cost less than half of the cost posted. Buyers know when sellers are trying to make money on the shipping. Personally I would change the single game title and put inc 5 games. I don't like the bullets or astericks. I know sellers do that to make the title connected on one line. Bait is thrown and now you wait.

THANK YOU!!! I had no idea. I was trying to illustrate that the console worked. Alright, I removed that image. Thanks so much for the advice. I removed that photo. So glad I posted here.

I see two issues. Remember a bid is the price they will pay, not the buy it now price. And that has a $ 40+ shipping cost to me in CA. That sounds really high.

How about showing the controller and accessories with the unit as your main photo. Maybe add Tested or Works Great into the title.
Good idea. It does look kind of stark just sitting there by itself. I'll take more pics in the daytime when I have some light. Thanks!

Agreed, shipping seems expensive. Not sure what to do. This is the cheapest shipping option ebay is showing me:

I have the same Xbox 360 system and just watched the movie Green Book on it.
I've been a frequent Buyer at eBay and your listing looks very good. If I were looking for an Xbox 360 I would be watching your listing and bidding, as it looks like the condition is great, your price point is very good, and you're including 5 games (if I remember the count correctly). The shipping cost is a little high, but factored into the overall cost it should be fine.

Perfect ! If that's your first attempt at listing then I feel sorry for your future competition . 🙂 Tulips
