Thinking about running a second account with a different selling style. My goal is less effort and planning on more returns. Obviously I plan on following policies. I just want to see what happens if I am not neurotic about the items I sell. I know there are a few people here that use multiple accounts to sell but wasn't sure how the stats work.

Each account will have its own set of metrics and dashboard. However, it is worth keeping in mind that eBay can and does occasionally link accounts based on registered address and/or IP addresses and has in the past disabled all accounts that are linked if one account gets banned or disabled.
You should be fine as long as both accounts remain in good standing. I can't imagine there's any reason you would run into any problems, but it's always good to be aware of the possibilities.

Everything is separate ... until ...
If you end up getting suspended for going below standard or some other reason, your other account(s) will also be suspended.

Yeah they would definitely get linked if they aren't already. With my test plans only my SNAD metrics should get hit in theory. I plan on shipping on time and not fighting returns.

Still not sure what will happen if my other account gets too many SNADs. CS is beyond useless right now. I was hoping to get as much info as possible before I take the plunge. Best they could do is give me this link:
https://www.ebay.com/help/policies/identity-policies/multiple-accounts-policy?id=4232
It makes me furious to read this part:
"Registering new accounts or using other existing accounts to avoid buying and selling restrictions or limits or other policy consequences."
I have dealt with many nutjob buyers using multiple accounts to get around policy violations and blocks. Most of them still have active accounts...

@gwzcomps most of the nut job buyers I've dealt with have been smart enough to figure out eBay's guest account loop hole. They don't even have to bother with the minimal effort of creating a new account - just check out as a guest. And yeah, while eBay can link them if they use something in common like the same address every time, good luck getting them to actually do it. 🙄
Heck, I can't even get eBay to shut down accounts that have been hacked and are being used in a massive triangulation fraud scheme, but that's a whole other story.
As far as your situation - I don't think they would be able to apply the additional 5% to both accounts, only the one with potentially "Very High" SNADS. But, if it gets so many SNADS that they shut that account down, then I think there is a serious risk they could/would shut down your other account too.
Only you can decide if it is worth that risk. I suppose if you were on top of it, you could juggle things and just not let the expected SNAD account get too out of hand - maybe put it on vacation or just pull listings for a while if the rate starts to get too high.
