I wonder what buyers will think of this change? Will they even be told? It is going to be a huge change in how a lot of us do business! So many of my customers wait until an item is about to end to send an offer, or purchase a fixed priced item. I anticipate my stuff sitting on watch lists indefinitely. Ebay needs to make customers aware of these chages in policy, so they can also decide how to shop!

Simple fact! When items sit on a shelf for a long period of time in a store they go to what is called "The Clearance Section" and marked way down, not put back on the shelf with the new items. Who ever dreamed this GTC idea up is full of it, period!

So what Trinton@ebay is saying is that they have all sorts of rules that make it so sellers want to leave ebay.....Won't be long and AMZN will have an auction site for collectibles and ebay will be history because they chose to be Democratic Socialists....

You know, you could have left the 30 day option for us sellers to choice. Make it a GTC or 30 day would be great!!!!!

So we are not allowed to factually state what is happening to sellers, it is now also an Ebay policy violation......wow......
RETHINK YOUR POLICY OF TAKING AWAY OUR CHOICES........

EBAY is not concerned with Buyers or Sellers...just money....I read a thread on line (not EBAY), that this was policy was adopted to help large sellers who offer new items and not the small seller who sells collectibles or used items. The bulk of the EBAY 'cut' comes from these large sellers.....

This change does not benefit small sellers. My sales have slowed due to my listing now dropping in search results due to the time component. I can see this due to lower views and watchers. Ebay just does not listen to it's customers.

It seems ridiculous to me that it keeps being suggested that quantities be bulk revised to zero for out of stock, and that it does not take long. When you come back, how long does it take to re-enter the quantities!? If you have one of everything, ok, this may be a viable option. But if you have 1,000 plus listings, with quantities ranging from 1-100+, my memory is not that good, and switching back and forth from some csv sheet would take quite a long time. Time not needed to be spent before, when I could just let things sit ended until I was ready for them to be relisted again.
I've been reading these boards for quite a while. I haven't finished yet, but one thing I haven't seen mentioned that has been something I won't like, is the order things end in when bulk ended. It might just be a quirk of mine, but I like certain items of mine to be clustered together. When they would end, they would end in the order I listed them in. If I bulk end things, I need to end them in these clusters, taking just as long to end as to relist. If I were to bulk end everything, all 1000 listings end up just wherever, me needing to go through 5 pages to find them each time and make sure I don't overlook any, or else I live with not liking the order until next month, a thing to think about fixing all month. With 30 day, they'd end in the order listed, and I'd just go through the order and relist the groups. This way, I have to end in groups, and relist in groups. Double work, double time. Maybe only a few times a year, but kind of takes one of the few benefits of the gtc away for me, the less relisting, by making the whole relisting process way longer.
Idk how it's not an issue for anyone how the gsp is automatically added to every sell similar, which is what makes relisting time also take about 3 times longer for me, having to remove it from each group set, every relist, for years, but that's a whole other idea. I suppose eliminated by this gtc, unless I end and were to sell similar.
What else I'm looking forward to is when in a year, ebay starts doling out the "stale listing" emails. I had never heard of it, using 30 days, and often selling similar, and imagine many others probably didn't either. But if in a year, a bunch of no sale listings just start being ended and disappearing, these boards will be a flame again. I know I'd plan to end everything and relist at least yearly just to not worry about "stale listings" being cleaned off!
If it's possible at all, I don't want to renew my contract. It is a nauseating thing to learn and become accustomed to a process and look forward to it for income, knowing it'll be changed constantly, from things you finally have optimized to work for you. Ebay can do what they like, but I can't imagine many sellers not preferring venues with options.

Thumbs down to GTC,all its done for me is decrease sales & take up more of my time when i should be listing stuff. The less i sell the less i can buy on here. By the way many of us sellers are in fact buyers as well.....The fun aspect of Ebay is totally gone for me now....
