Does eBay have a PHONE Number to handle complicated problems which their Auto-roBots can't address ?

A "saboteur"(?) joined eBay on August 8th and "purchased" an expensive book .. eBay messages me to tell they cancelled the Sale because the "buyer" was shady with payment arrangements and to not contact this person and not to mail the item to them and etc... and yet , eBay marks the item as Sold and shows the purchase price less their fees , in my Payment to be Processed area ... and today they sent that money to my Bank . . and yet , the buyer is cancelled from eBay's site and is no longer a member , and the listing had disappeared or I would have re-listed the Item . . and now , eBay marks me as a late shipper "Overdue shipping" .. and I can't find their freaking phone number for a Customer Service agent (a real human would be nice..) to discuss the sticky problem

Why haven't you already canceled the transaction and refunded the money?

eBay cancelled the purchase immediately , and I am prevented from doing anything , but watching what happens next .. I can't even "Contact Buyer" because he is no longer on eBay . eBay ousted him . I am prevented from doing any of the normal things , as you cite

I am also apprehensive of trying to do anything at this point , UNTIL I can talk with some eBay representative > A HUMAN BEING representative

You shouldn't need to do anything, just don't send the item.  They'll probably pull the money back.  If you want to contact someone (not sure how much good they can do for you), I always recommend the chat through Facebook (you're talking with eBay reps that actually have access and power to change things unlike any phone rep I've ever spoken to).  facebook.com/ebayforbusiness

The "real people" /phone reps are poorly trained and will give you the answer you want rather than the one you need.

Use the social media reps instead.

It's slower.

That's  a Good Thing.

The rep has time to research and consider before answering.

Do ask for a Payments Specialist.

And before you post your question, write it out, proofread it, and decide if what you wrote is accurate.

The social media Chat accounts are covered by trained eBay employees with some authority.
And you get a transcript so you can compare what you heard with what you were told.

Thank you . I'll try to contact someone-in-the-know @ eBay through this Facebook link ... Best I could do so far is find an almost 2 year old phone number for eBay's Scam / Fraud Dept. via a Google search .. but , I will try your way , first

Thank you . Someone else replied minutes ago , and gave me the same advice you are giving . I have a Facebook chat opened , and am waiting for a rep to come on and address this situation

The number you find in a Google search is a scam. They have gained access to a long gone former eBay phone number. When you call they will want a credit card number or gift cards. 
Real help is free. 

Be very careful when looking for answers on an internet search.
