Do you think I'll win this doesn't work/defective case

Heres the scenario.  Somone bought a car part off of me for 200 and it costs 50 to ship.

The wear is normal for something of this mileage, and I my engine specialists told me that the part is in decent condition for the mileage. I made sure to take many pictures from different angles to assure that the product is shown.

After a few private messages regarding the product.

I clearly stated,""There still a little dirty , but I took em to my local machine shop and they said these are in good/decent condition . When the motor ran it had no vanos issues. On one of the cam spot there’s a sleight groove but nothing to be concerned about. At the hook rings it’s the normal wear. For the mileage".

He responds with "Ok... I have to see it in person .. if too deep I probably can’t take it ... please ship it ASAP.

I've tried to reason with the dude with partial refund, showing i did state there was some grooves/ normal wear for the item. I don't really want to take it back as it would result in a $100; this hurts more because I'm the occasional seller selling a few things every once and awhile.

Any suggestions would be highly appreciated.

With the current Simplified Return system Ebay started in October of 2018, it just is NOT in your best interest to try and battle an INAD when one is filed.

When you ask Ebay to step in, Ebay will rule for the buyer not matter how much evidence you have.  And if Ebay rules for the buyer, you will end up fully refunding the buyer, Ebay will not credit you for FVF and you will get a defect on your selling account, which you need to avoid those.

I know it is frustrating.  Many of us have been actively lobbying Ebay for some significant improvements in the return system.  They tell us they know that some changes need to happen, yet a couple years later and we are still in the same position with not even a glimmer of hope that Ebay is going to make positive changes for sellers.

I'm really sorry, but this is the current reality on the site for sellers.

1.) you won't win anything, tell buyer to return for full refund- or ebay will do it for you

2.) don't sell items that are 'kinda' this or that- with any expectation less than 'there a good chance it's coming back'.

No offense to you. I'm just telling it like it is.

You will 100% lose.

Accept the return and pay the return shipping.

If you don't,  ebay will refund the buyer with your money and let the buyer keep the item without having to return it.

Sorry this happened to you.

Good luck and stay safe!

Sorry to say but you will have to accept the return. For future reference a camshaft with grooves is of no use to anyone regardless of what your mechanic says. Maybe just toss it. If you relist it the odds are good the same thing will happen again. Maybe sell it locally so people can see it before handing you cash.

No winning on eBay, just deciding how bad you want to lose.
