How often do you send out offers to potential buyers, if ever? And what is your success rate? How much of a discount do you give normally? The bare minimum, or a nice rounded number discount?
I had to stop, because my success rate non-existent, and the one taker I had, surprise surprise, was a deadbeat non-payer. So I had to wait 4 days to close it, and now I have almost 100 eligible items to send offers for.
I wish automatic payment was a thing for this.

I personally do not put the "Best offer" option in my listings because of what you mentioned. However, if I get a "send offer" as someone may be watching the item, I have had some success. I'd say about 50% do accept and pay right away. Just my experience.
Happy Selling.

28% of our sales are from best offers and 22% are from "Seller initiated offers". So approx 50% of our sales are form either a best offer received or us sending one !

Actually, in a way it is. All offers you send (and counter offers you accept) must be paid separately at full shipping cost. Counter offers are a bit different, since even if you accept them buyers don't have to pay. You cannot send a reminder and/or file the unpaid item cancellation and award them a strike for non-payment of accepted COUNTER OFFERS.

Accepted sent offers tend to fall into the most problematic transactions category for the items I sell.

I send offers all the time, some result in a sale and that's a good thing. I am always happy. Back in the day, while waiting for payment the item was taken off the market. In today's ebay, the item is not out of sight for a potential buyer until its paid for. Also, very pleased in the uptick in my sales... at least 1 or 2 daily for the last few weeks. The Universe was listening to my need.

I'd say Sent Offers are a pretty big part of our business. (I whited out the numbers because I'm not confident my boss would want me sharing the specifics, but the percentages are pretty telling, and I can tell you the numbers are pretty big numbers in all cases).
