Do returns affect visibility?

Just wondering, do returns affect visibility? I seem to have less activity going on when a return is in progress (and I had one last weekend too, but the buyer has already been refunded). When I say less activity, I mean views, watchers, messages from buyers, bids and purchases, not just sales.

E-Bay "says" it does not.  My personal experience has been that when you have a claim or issue that affects metrics ( or can affect metrics) that it does suppress you in search.

E-Bay says it does not, but my own experience has demonstrated otherwise.

Although that's not the answer I wanted to hear, there's good news... for one, I sell enough unique stuff that I'm on page 1 for those items always (sometimes I even have the only one), and for two the repeat buyers come look at my store, not do the search.

My phone has been completely quiet since that return was opened, which is a bit unusual. We shall see what happens overnight. In my experience most of my sales are between 8pm EDT and 2am EDT.

Hope it all works out for you.  We had a bogus chargeback recently and even though we prevailed - we went 5-6 days with essentially no sales, no views, no traffic.  Then, as soon as they settled in our favor, the light switch came back on and views and traffic resumed.

From what I can see, it's one postcard that sold. I have 35 offers I can send out tonight (usually I do these before bed or later in the evening), so maybe that will drum up something.

I had a CC chargeback in April that I didn't know was ongoing all this time and they decided in my favour recently. The return from a week ago has been resolved. Now that's done, we have a new return.

I say YES, without a doubt. I am going through the same issue right now. I had to refund a buyer yesterday early morning because the USPS either lost or stole the package I sent out on June 1st to my customer. Expected delivery was 2 days after shipping. I checked the tracking and it still shows as DEPARTING my local post office and NO SCANS SINCE June 2nd. I ship everything out within 24 hrs of purchase. I did open a Missing Mail search at the earliest possible date only to find the CASE CLOSED in tracking with NO PHONE CALL, or EMAIL with an explanation of where his package is. A first by the way for USPS as I have had to open many over the years- all with phone contact from USPS and every package being found and delivered in the near future. SO, I have now seen my ORGANIC VIEWS drop like a rock since yesterday morning. A bad month keeps getting worse. Yes, we are penalized even when we have done nothing wrong.
