If it is hollow and there are openings at the ends, you might try putting a little water in it and blowing in it.  A friend of mine sells bird call whistles that are shaped a little like that.

Does the little round part across from the spout come off.. like a separate little cup?  Or is it attached, more like a good handle grip.
