No ... manufacturers use a single UPC for lots of variations. Matchbox cars is perhaps the most famous example.
You can actually list a product without the UPC by clicking "does not apply". eBay has threatened to not renew such a listing (if I recall correctly), but I don't think they've implemented anything yet.

I don't think so.
Previous poster listed that some UPC are blanket and cover the variations; this is true.
There could be a case of variations but still one UPC.
