Greetings!
There is a way to download an eBay document that lists all the categories along with the associated category "ID" numbers.
It is my understanding that there are "standard" item specifics associated with a particular category.
Without having to go into listing something for sale, changing the category and reviewing the item specifics that are available for a particular category, is there a way to get a list (or search by category #) to display or capture all the item specifics "attached" to a category?
I've spoken to an eBay help tech and they were stumped. They are going to submit what I spoke to them about to IT dept., so that's probably a lost cause.
Here's one thing, when you are creating a listing, you have the option to change the category. When you select that and choose "search", a window pops up and at the bottom is "category number" and a box that you can't enter in a category number. Why is that there if it can't be used?
Has anyone else come across this and solved it?
It was suggested that I should just "create custom item specifics" and then create a new template to retain them as I go along! Which really doesn't answer the question:
Is there a way to list the item specifics that are attached to a particular category ID number?
Thanks in advance for taking the time to read, think and respond...

You should be able to download a list of categories and category numbers for the US and Canadian sites here:
https://pages.ebay.com/sellerinformation/news/categorychanges.html
The full list pdf is about 600 pages.
To find current item specifics for a given category, you could navigate to the particular category or subcategory (either by starting at the site map or searching), and then use the "more refinements" link on the left side of the page. The category number can be found in the URL when browsing that category.

An alternate webbed expandable list of eBay categories -- click on a category to see subcategories; once you get to the lowest-level category, clicking on it will take you directly to that category on eBay, where you can use the "more refinements" link.
