Disappointed

I have been a seller for 20years, 100% approval. Shipped an item that came back to me because USPS label got ripped off somehow, leaving only the return address. ( I bought the label through ebay so the tracking info was automatically added) It got lost in the mail until it finally came back to me 3 weeks later. Buyer opened case. (He was such a **bleep** about it too)  Ebay refunded money and kept seller fee and of course I also lost the postage. I appealed TWICE and they rejected me both times.  Man, ebay makes millions and they can't give me $10 back? Shameful.

I always place a piece of clear 2" packing tape over the address and the top half of the bar code. This protects the address label going to and the USPS tracking barcode against tearing or damage.

Yeah, sorry to hear they didn't have your back on this.  They don't really prioritize having sellers backs.

That said, your appeals don't even reach actual people anymore.  The first review is an AI, that basically rejects all first appeal requests, even if they violate ebay rules.  The second review (appeal) is also done by an AI and it also rejects pretty much everything.  If you call in or use facebook, any people there will use the "we cant change what the system does" excuse.  So they are using the AI system now as the reason they cant do anything for sellers.

Probably a corner got peeled up from being tossed around in mail/packages and at some point a portion of the peeled up section adhered enough to something else, to rip.

@flamencofemme

After all this time one of the basic rules of selling here has always been that sellers are responsible for the package to the point of delivery.  I see why you were a bit off balance with this one, but still once the buyer opened the INR, you should have just honored it and refunded the buyer.  Instead you let it stay open until such time it was old enough where the buyer could ask Ebay to step in.  That is NEVER a good idea and it why you didn't get your FVFs refunded.

Well at least you got your item back and if it is still in good shape, you can sell it again to recoup at least some of your money.

IDK why you are upset with Ebay!  What did Ebay do wrong?  The rules on delivery are the same as they have been for years.
