I got my first INR in quite awhile. Item was delivered day before she opened INR. I uploaded tracking the day it was opened & I called Ebay the following day to see if they could close it since I uploaded tracking showing delivery. They said I had to wait until the 'step in' date in case Ebay decides to pay them out of their pocket. That date was yesterday & the INR still sits open.
What should I do? I thought it would close automatically yesterday, but it's still on my Disputes with a Resolve by June 7th date. I really want this closed. TIA.

It changed quite a while ago. You can:

I haven't looked at one in a long time. Might want to try Chatting with customer service.

If I have to, I will. But it should have closed automatically yesterday. At least, that's been the case for quite awhile.

This being eBay of course "that's been the case for a while" doesn't necessarily mean anything. Even when it's supposed to still be true.

Reach out to e-Bay CS on social media and they will assist as regards this
(19) eBay for Business | Facebook
OR you can click on this link, go to the bottom of the page and click on "Have us Contact You" and when the chat box pops up, type in CALL ME and they will
Selling practices policy | eBay
When they call you, give them the transaction number and they will see the tracking, it was delivered and it is past the date to close and "typically" they will work to close it in your favor.
Buyer still gets an email asking them if they wish to "appeal".
I would do (2) things BEFORE I reached out to e-Bay CS
1) BBL this Buyer
2) Report Buyer from Transaction View drop down box - INR occurred after delivery and notate same. Reporting your Buyer carries more weight with CS (esp on social media) if done before contact.
Good luck!

Thanks @katzrul15 I guess I'll be in touch w/them again tmw.
I'm not going to BBL her b/c she's a repeat buyer & I suspect she's telling the truth, since I've never had a problem with her before. Esp since it was a holiday week, so she likely had a sub carrier. But still there's nothing I can really do.
@wastingtime101 Thanks, I didn't realize it had changed. I don't get them very often.

If she is a good repeat buyer and you believe her - have you reached out to her PO to ask about the discrepancy?
I have no idea how much money we are talking about here, but if it was a solid repeat Buyer of mine and I thought they were telling me the truth, I would have worked with the Buyer for a resolution and/or contracted USPS and worked to assist further.
I do realize that "technically" as a Seller, we do not owe the buyer if it shows delivered. But if I was the Buyer and I paid and I did not have my item, I would not be very happy, repeat Buyer or not.
Your Buyer can appeal and they *might* do a courtesy refund if your Buyer has not had others recently, etc.
Good luck. I hope this resolves well.

Yeah thanks, but I'm on top of it 🙂 I always either offer to or suggest they do contact the USPS. In this case, I thought it best she contact the USPS & she did. They think it was misdelivered & they are working on finding it.
I have even, in the past refunded some, who I just felt were being truthful, so that's an option, if the investigation doesn't yield anything. But in this case, eBay mentioned several times that they may refund her & I will probably let them. It's not my fault if her carrier misdelivered. It's just a typical sale, so not a huge amount of money. We'll see what happens, but eBay stressed to me repeatedly that THEY would be the ones to refund her, if it's not found.

Thanks everyone! I woke up to the case being closed by my buyer & glowing FB. I don't have the deets yet, but apparently the mis-delivery has shown up. Great news!
It was "delivered" over a week ago, so it took awhile to shake out, but thankfully she has her item and I didn't have to call eBay 😀
