Did Not Receive request. Tracking shows delivered.

I just received a 'did not receive' from a buyer where the tracking shows it was delivered 10/22.  Verified address. Correct. She sent me a note and said she was filing it against her American Express because she did not get it. She said the USPS told her they delivered it.  She sent me a note and said there had been some breaking into the mail lockers where this was delivered.  I told her I was sorry to hear she didn't get it.  I suggested she report to police if someone was stealing mail.  My tracking shows delivered.  Anything else I need to do?

Issue a refund, unfortunately.  And then block the buyer.

Issue a refund in a case where there is tracking showing delivery on the 22nd?

If an ebay case or request is opened upload the tracking number.

(Even if you purchased shipping on ebay you still need to reply to the case by uploading the number.)

Do the same if they file a payment dispute.

I would actually wait and see if the credit card does a charge back personally! I just don’t trust people. I would definitely block them as well.

Don't refund. That's bad advice for this situation obviously!

Wait for the payment dispute, and then provide the tracking information.

You should be covered by the eBay "seller protection".

If this buyer ends up filing with AmEx, figure out a way to upload her eBay messages telling you USPS confirmed delivery and about the break-ins where she receives deliveries. If you are restricted to uploading one photo, print out her messages and take a picture of them, along with a printout of the tracking confirmation.

ETA:  Post intended for OP, but wanted to quote buyselljack2016's recommendation, as well.

Tracking showing delivered should resolve the issue here. If they have started an INR case pig in the tracking into the case. If they go straight to their charge card, you still need to show item was delivered and then dispute the chargeback. The problem with the CC chargeback is that the case is totally up to the CC company when that happens. Ebay is suppose to cover sellers who have top rated benefits when these chargeback happy customers do this stuff. I have a chargeback now for someone saying they did not recognize the transaction and the item was delivered just a few days before they did this. Possibly in my case a scammer or someone who forgot they purchased it. Bad stuff selling online, at times.

SELLERS are not suppose to be there to protect someone’s mailbox from theft. NO REFUND.

YES , good but the CC companies must be diligent in reviewing this stuff and doing the right thing for the seller. NORMALLY THEY ARE LAX, take forever, side with the cardholder and should be regulated by the govt in their unfair practices with merchants.

Obviously. That's why I said not to refund and called out a previous poster's bad advice. Maybe you meant to reply to someone other than me.

That would seem to be out of the scope of the original post, and, unfortunately, beyond the purview of my powers.

@bill.purvis2012

Now you wait.

Buyer could be telling the truth and legit, however, as a Seller, if tracking shows this delivered (as others stated also), you should be protected as a Seller.  Typically, e-Bay will do a courtesy refund, unless your Buyer is a serial claim type.

I would report your Buyer now from the transaction view.  I would outline for e-Bay that this Buyer states and acknowledges that it shows as delivered, however is still expecting you as a the Seller to interact and negate possible USPS mail theft and state it is outlined in her emails to you.

Report your Buyer now, in case there is an issue on a go-forward basis on this transaction and add to your BBL.

Good luck!

One more thought:

I am hoping when the buyer mentioned filing with American Express she is just referring to "American Express Purchase Protection" It's a special plan for eligible card holders that actually covers things like a package being nabbed from the porch.

Anyway, good luck and have a great weekend.
