I have some old stamps and I would like to use them as postage. If I purchased a delivery confirmation tracking number at the post office, would I be able to add the tracking number to the item on Ebay to let the buyer track the item? Let me know. Thank you.

You can always add tracking number(s) to your items sold so the buyer can track the item(s). It does not matter how you paid for them at the post office. When you pay for your postage and tracking inside the post office, ebay has no idea what method you used to pay for that service.

I use old stamps all the time for shipments. Stamps, like U.S. curency, do not expire. Sometimes you can even save money by buying old stamps on eBay for less than the face value. With a little searching, you can find stamp collectors that are selling sheets or rolls of stamps for 10-20% off of value. Sometimes you can even find sellers offering them for as much as 40% off of value. When a long time stamp collector dies, the family is often motivated in selling these old stamps quickly for anything they can get since the retail collector market has collapsed. Shhh, don't tell too many people my secret for discounted shipping costs.
