Delisting? Does it re-list if changes are made?

I've read a few posts now, to sum up; eBay makes your listing invisible or much less visible if it sits for x amount of time.  Makes sense to me, as far as making sure buyers aren't forced to scroll through crap they don't want to see.  Here are my questions though;

1.  Anyone know the actual time frame?

2.  If I let am item sit for x time say 30 days, and then drop the price will eBay's algorithm play nice again?

1) Nobody knows the actual time frame for the algorithm.  Just use your best judgement. If the listing is stale, then delist the item & then use the sell similar with some modifications such as new photos, new title, etc. 

2) Dropping the price might only briefly help you. Again, its up to you on the price that you're willing to accept. There are always other factors involved to receive views in the algorithm.

I really wish I could link the video I saw but I don’t remember who it was. Some ebay youtuber asked an ebay rep at an ebay open workshop. He said 9 months. Thats the only time I have ever heard from someone at ebay and he could have been making it up.

I think it depends on a lot of factors. If the item gets a lot of views yet nobody buys it then it might get suppressed quicker than something that isn’t even getting looked at. The number of photos. The conversion rate of the keywords in your title. The lack of photos. Incomplete specifics.

I really don’t think there is a consistent time frame. I think its different for every item and every seller.

Everyday I list I also revisit as much as a list and make meaningful changes. Ending and “selling similar” in bulk is a fool’s errand.
