I’m getting so tired of this, last year I lost my top seller status because listings that were deleted would somehow automatically be relisted. I know not to check “the auto re-list until sold” when creating a listing. So I finally built my top seller status back up and now it’s happening again. It happened in April and the person who took my call at eBay even verified she doesn’t know how my item got re-listed, now it happened again today and going through my listings I found two other items that I had deleted that have magically reappeared. Is there anything I can do? When you call ebay you can’t even speak with anyone who can really do anything about it.

The ghost listings have been going on for years and they don't know why it happens or how it happens. I've had items that sold 6 months previously appear. It's a lot of work but I think sellers have to scan their active items at least once a week and don't bulk edit unsolds without verifying you actually still have the item in stock.
I had this happen 2 months ago - right after the one for last year had rolled off.

@texasmarks- post the item #s. @Anonymous was looking for examples of this.

Yes, it would be nice to see this stop happening. Hopefully that will happen this time.

Is it possible that a third party site was used to host your listings? This happened to us last year. After canceling our contract with a third party site, the site continued to relist our items even when we ended the product and canceled the listings. We called CS and they were unsure as to why our listings were being relisted. Eventually we figured that the third party site was automatically relisting the items and had to bring it to their attention. Since then, our listings have been fine.

Hi @texasmarks, items definitely shouldn't list on their own. I can review this in more detail but I will need to discuss some account details, so I'll send you an email shortly so that we can get to the bottom of this!

You are not alone.
I find doing regular checks of my listings helps.
I don't have more than 1000 listings on most of my selling accounts, but even the largest, which has run to seven or eight thousand at times, can be checked fairly simply.
Put all your listings in alphabetical order by clicking of Title on your Active Listings page.
Duplicates show up immediately.

Duplicates show up immediately.
That is a good point for DUPLICATE listings, but there are some that are ended/sold and DELETED that have been reappearing now for a few years. If a seller has hundred or even thousands of listings, they don't even know until the ghost listings sell...again?

I've had this happen to me too. The last time I caught one was maybe a month and half ago or so. It's frustrating. I also check my listings frequently.

I see no option to look at my active listings by title. What am I missing?

Thing is, no matter how frequently you are checking, one could still sneak in and be bought before you knew it.
You can't check constantly.

No, I’ve never used a third party. I do all of my own listings.

Exactly. Those don't show up as dupes.

Exactly, it happens so often I go through my listings about twice a week and sure enough it still happens.
