Delayed refund on a return

Wondering if anyone has experience with this.

Basically what happened was this-

-Buyer paid for two items from me at once

-Buyer found a third item and paid for that separately

-Buyer asked for combined shipping for the two orders so I went in Paypal and manually refunded the excess shipping on one of them

-Long story short, buyer asked to cancel all orders

-I cancelled both in eBay (using buyer requested as the reason), and noticed in Paypal, the refund has gone through for one of the orders, but not the other - the one I already partially refunded prior to cancelling (and the one that was two items, if that matters).

eBay says they're waiting for the customer to verify they've gotten a refund... would it be safe to assume that the rest will go through eventually and I just need to wait it out, or does cancelling a partially refunded order actually screw things up in eBay and Paypal?

Delayed refund on a return

Technically it 'shouldn't', but we all know there's no guarantee as to how this whole system really works! lol  The system should refund the difference, as the transaction should be linked with transaction/item numbers between the 2 systems.

That being said, I would wait a solid week, before doing anything else (esp since eBay rep told you that also), and let the system try to sort it out.  It might take longer since you did partially refund, and the systems are no longer 'linked' as well as they once were.

Look at it this way, if after a week, the system hasn't refunded the remainder, you can always to & do it manually again.  However, if you send the money to the buyer, and THEN the system tries to refund again, I doubt you'll see your money back again.
