Default shipping settings when creating new listings

It used to be when creating a listing it would use the default shipping settings from the previous edited listing.

Now every time I list something I have to:

  • Change from calculated shipping to flat rate (and wait 5 seconds for that to load)
  • Change Priority  Mail to USPS Ground Advantage
  • Check free shipping

I didn't used to have to do this. How can we now set the default shipping settings?

This wastes a lot of time and also causes mistakes.

I find it simpler to use the Business Policies feature.

https://www.bizpolicy.ebay.com/businesspolicy/manage

You'll need at least one Payment, one Return, and one Shipping policy, but you can have multiples.   I only have one of each, and every new listing it uses these as 'default' for me.

Another bonus, if you ever need to change any setting for all listings, you just update the Business Policy and that will apply to any item that already set.  This also gains you consistency across all your listings.

Thanks but that won't work for us. I just need it to default shipping values from previous listing like it used to do.

Great, now that I clicked the link to business policies and started a new one to check it out, it removed the ability for me to select a shipping method, rate tables, etc...

Now I have to call ebay and speak to someone I have to ask them to constantly repeat themselves.

Just opt out of business policies and it will go away......

You can opt out any time by selecting the Opt out link on the Manage business policies page. Your active listings won't be affected, but if you want to make changes to payment, shipping, and return terms, you'll need to do that individually on each future listing. You can also opt back in to business policies at any time; however your old policies will be deleted when you opt out. You will need to create new policies and associate your listings to them using a bulk editing tool if you opt back in.

oh..just a personal observation...

ebay probably saw all the whining and complaining about how ebay charged me shipping too little or too much because incompetent sellers used whatever settings were there when they "Sell Similar"

so, ebay removed any settings making input mandatory

Found the OPT OUT link and now I have the shipping options back, thanks for that! But it is still defaulting to the wrong shipping where I have to change it every time.

I guess I will need to look more into the shipping policies. I know ebay won't do anything about this and make it work like it has for years.

When I list in mobile there will be random times where all the default options are wrong and I have to manually add in my zip code etc. It's usually a temporary glitch and I just put off listing until later and it fixes itself. I'm not sure if that's related to what you're going through.
