I sold an item that isnt damaged, but another piece of it got scratched up in storage so I sent the buyer a message and picture. So Im required to ship it by today 5pm and Im wondering what should I do if the buyer doesnt respond to the message? Should I cancel the order? because I dont want this affecting my late shipment rate in seller dashboard.

It would be a violation of board posting rules if I clarified.

I think I would send it, along with a note about the defect that was found. Then give them the option of returning for a refund, or a partial refund if they keep it.
If it was a lower priced item, I would send it, then refund, telling the buyer I'm sorry, it is your for free, and hopefully you can still use it. The higher price item makes it a harder decision. Good luck to you either way!

If you need his phone number, go to the Print Label page for the transaction. When you get there, click on the "Go back to classic label printing" link that's located just above where it says "Shipping Label." After you click on that, click on "change" (located next to the "Ship to" section on the left of that page). Then you should see your buyer's phone number below their address.

If you were to "cancel" the transaction you will get a defect even though you are doing the right thing. I would contact the buyer by both Ebay message as well as by e-mail to notify them of the issue and give them 48 hours to respond and take the possible hit on a late shipment. If the buyer wants to cancel then have them request that you cancel the transaction by going to their purchase history. A buyer request to cancel through Ebay channels is not a seller defect.

You need to send the item out. The buyer knows of the problems. The ball is now in their court.
