How's everyone SALES going this Holiday season?
I am down 30% less than last year. On average I sell 10-15 items a day. A low day is usually around 7, and high can be around 22 items.
Yesterday, 4 items, and today only 1 so far. Seems like a horrible holiday season for small US sellers this season. I've heard the same from a few sellers, but I am sure there are some with great SALES this season!
I genuinely hope SALES are great for everyone! But again, how are your sales this year compared to last?
My last 31 days has dwindled down slowly and slowly this December. Probably he worst month this year.
2 years ago I had 600 listings and made about double what I do now with 1,400 listings... hmmm
Maybe I'm in another blackout or something, but it does cause some anxiety as always when SALES are down. But I REALLY expected December to be booming! Maybe everyone is saving for presents?

Do you actually read the post before commenting on them?
Those numbers are the monthly sales totals in order, from Jun to Nov. It would have continued if I didn't call eBay in Dec to report it.
Yes, I do and nothing makes sense at all. So you say by calling the customer service the sells magically allowed you to get sells again. Did they say why you did NOT have sells in the first place ? Did they turned you off, didn't allow buyers to buy your stuff ? Did they hide your items ? Did they say your items are over priced compared to others selling the same things ? You never answer serious questions but ramble about the same patterns that mean nothing.
The Post was about sales patterns and not whether or not I got sales. I still don't see anywhere in my post or replies, where I said I called CS and sales started up again. Also the sales pattern numbers that I posted, show that I had sales. I can't do anything about you not being able to make sense out of a small post. The lexicon that I used was very basic and it wasn't loquacious at all.

I had a good November but a very slow December, only 3 sales so far. My worst December performace on ebay. Fortunatly I'm killing it on Etsy with the same products but fewer listings! Go figure? Not sure if its lack of traffic or ebay is just not drawing the traffic it once did. I think many buyers have moved to Amazon & Etsy. Time will tell.

Since I have already posted my experiences in several other threads over the past week or so, I will just recap with this.
My sales have been on a nice steady upswing since shortly after the November elections last year. It is like consumer confidence is still up and rising and people are loosening their purse strings for the types of stuff I deal in. Granted, I sell in a wide array of categories and deal both here and on Etsy, so that is an indicator that product diversity may be a key to surviving and thriving as an Internet Miscellany Merchant, with the other being activity on all accounts daily or at least regularly.
The greater majority of what I have sold has been stuff from the 70s, 80s, and 90s; eras that never seem to go out of style. In fact, I need to update my witticism about the 80s being the singularity of pop culture, with a little something to appeal to all types. That should now be "The 80s are the singularity of pop culture, and the 70s and 90s make up the event horizon."
That said, I have 4 items ready to go out today, one from Etsy (a $40 CD and VHS Metallica boxed set from their Binge and Purge tour), and the other three here on eBay (a $15 Care Bear and a $10 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles figure on my main account, and a $10 1970s Thermos replacement stopper on one of my other accounts... go figure). Compared to the past few days though, that was lower than normal on the sales totals. But I don't mind. As long as we make our daily $bread$, all is well and the smaller packaging session was a nice respite from the hecticness of the previous few days.
Now to finish this cup of J and get today's listings up before we head out for shipping and shopping.

This thread is a year old lol
but I'm up 12% across all three accounts over last year at this time.

This may be an old thread, but it is one of the rare few old threads that is worthy of keeping open; since it is pretty neat to be able to come back to it yearly and post comparisons from previous years...or something like that. 🙂
