Sold a laptop. Got a shipping label from EBAY. Sent it out. Got stuck in customs. Policy states buyer has to pay for customs charges. I put in shipping details and a claim. They ruled in my favor. Then the buyer appealed it and since I spoke of a refund in our chat (using google translate so who knows what I actually said) they overruled it in his favor. Now I’m out the money and the laptop which is apparently sitting in customs somewhere. Is Ebay responsible to get me my package back? What do I do now?

How did you ship this laptop and "where" did you ship it to? There are several countries where customs are a nightmare and there are also buyer scams concerning "customs".
Need a little more information in order to discern how best to advise you.

I sent it with an Ebay international shipping tag. The customer lives in south America and for some reason the package went to Thailand. But all I dod was print the label put it on the package and sent it on its way.

Since u used eBay's Int'l shipping, once the delivery is made to the eBay warehouse here in the US, your item is automatically assumed 'delivered'. Plus you have automatic $100 insurance.
here are the ebay links for info on their int'l shipping>

Sounds like risky business, shipping to S.A.
Hopefully it was the unit for $96 and not something for ~$960.
Good luck. Maybe one of the members here can help you out.
