Hi! Just curious what everyone would do in this case...
I sold a ring and my listing clearly states no returns and the size of the ring. The customer would like to return it because it didn’t fit. Should I do the refund as a gesture of goodwill or stick by my no return policy especially since the size of the ring was clearly listed. This is the first time this has happened and I’m not sure which way to go.
thank you!

Approve the Return and provide a shipping label. You'll need to provide a refund only when the ring is returned to you . If the correct remorse reason is listed, you won't be liable for the shipping cost. This is the best way to handle it and keep your Seller Metrics intact.
For what it's worth, I find that if something sells once, it will again. Good luck.

I always just go with this and nothing else:
Sorry you are not pleased with your purchase. Please refund for refund.
Allow the buyer to decide whether or not to open a return with eBay. Sometimes they will open a return but never actually follow thru and you never here from them again. As @mtgraves7984 states, depending upon the reason the customer selects for the return, you might have to send them a return label.
I have free returns so eBay always provides the buyer with a prepaid return label which is less hassle for me. I just wait for the item to be returned and refund according to eBay policy.

Where online can you not return something that does not fit? Do the refund not as a gesture of goodwill but as a sign of good business acumen. And never sell anything fitted as "no returns". Just list as customer pays return and half the time they don't have an issue with that.

Really no such thing as "no returns" because EBAY has money back guarantee if customer claims "not as described, defective, counterfeit".
I know you hate to lose a sale...but customer was honest with you and you should accept the return. Otherwise, customer might "reverse charges" with her credit card company.
Customer will find a way to "get their money back" so you might as well just accept their return.

You may wish to advise your buyer if they really wish to keep the ring, that most rings can be sized for a very small fee & to contact their jeweler for an estimate of the cost.
