A customer just asked me a question about one of my items.
I basically cut and pasted his answer right from the listing. It's right there in black and white.
I LOVE MY CUSTOMERS!

90% of the time when you do answer that is the end of it. Oh Well. Andrew

The only things I see missing (from the 2 listings I looked at) are measurements. The hula shark is a hoot, but I'd have no idea how big it is - or if my sandwich box would fit in the lunch bag/carrier.
You have some cute stuff there!

I think some buyers do this to test your response time; check to see if anyone is there.

I get a bunch of those too,
As I understand it from other threads, when someone is using a mobile deice (i.e. smart phone) they only see the "specifications" part of the listing. They have to find and click a button that says "description" and obviously their knee is jerking faster than their trigger finger.
I don't use a mobile myself so maybe someone with more experience on mobile phones can chime in and confirm.

OK, so what? Is one question going to hurt you or consume your whole life?
why have a customer service job if you don’t like dealing with people or get annoyed any time someone needs a little more effort? These people are paying you.
i don’t get it.

Yep, happens to me all of the time, too. The most frequently asked question is, "Do you you offer combined shipping?" I have all of the info about my combined shipping discounts in all of my descriptions. I am glad my buyers ask...saves me some time issuing refunds when they over pay for shipping
Edit: I Love My Customers, Too!

Wow! Did inhawaii say she was hurt by their question or that it was consuming her whole life? She said nothing about being annoyed. Apparently you "didn't get it" and read a whole lot into her very general statement.

I'm hurt?
One question consumes my whole day?
I don't like dealing with people?
I get annoyed?
Did i say any of that?
Just an observation that customers often ask questions where the answer is already in the listing.

I tested out a couple of your items. It looks like you have them set up to automatically update in the cart. For this reason as a buyer I would not have to ask what your combined shipping is.
There are many other sellers that write combined shipping in their description, but when you start adding their items to your cart the shipping is not combined.
I commend you both for having this set up correctly. Oftentimes when I add items to my cart and they don't automatically combine, I delete them and look for a seller who has this set up correctly. So these other sellers that have this setup incorrectly may be missing out on some sales. Some buyers don't want to wait to receive a combined invoice especially for a fixed price item.

It happens but rarely. The way i look at it is that every contact is an opportunity to close the sale. I always answer politely and usually do not feel the need to point out the info is in the listing. It might embarrass or belittle a potential buyer.

I view any customer contact at all as a sales opportunity. Sometimes, I even leave a small detail out of a listing to generate questions.

I agree. I answered promptly (within minutes) and politely and did not point out that the info was already in the listing .
