I sell custom bronze plaques. My customers need to be able to send me their art in a JPG or sometimes a finished art file such as a PDF or AI file. They don't seem to be able to attach them. They ask me for my email address but Ebay doesn't like that. I want to keep transactions here that started here, but need a way to send files back and forth. Below is a link to how I have my listing set up.

After the sale you can get their email from payPal and go from there.

Buyer would have to contact you through eBay eBay's message system to attach a file. That cannot be done through the ASQ on the listing page.

Eh?
The seller has the email addy at the time the buyer makes the payment. Ebay does not provide the buyer's email in contact info! That only reveals the street address, city, state, zip, and ph. No.

Not sure about this one. Ebay frowns on a lot of information back and forth before a sale. Whatever was in the file may trigger eBay to think of it as a possible off eBay sale.

I think that is what I said but ok

To send you a file, the buyer would have to click on your username to get to your profile, click contact on the upper right on the page, enter the item no....
That is confusing and burdensome for a buyer and can lead to transaction failure. I'd contact the buyer by email after payment.

They need to show me their design before I can make the sale. I see lots of customizable items listed that say contact me with your ideas. They contact me but need to attach a file. Isn't there a simple way, like they have on another site I sell at?

I don't think you can send a attached file.
The thing I am thinking is what information is sent back and forth. eBay would view it as personal information and possibly suspect an off site sale.

I am trying to avoid it looking like an offsite sale. What starts here I want to keep here, but if there is no other way for them to get me a file it would look like I'm attempting to take it off of Ebay. This must be a common thing. I havent sold a lot here yet, so I'm learning.

I looked at customized boat lettering but they have a standard size at one price. Do you have a item number of a cutom sign from someone that you were looking at.
I was wondering if they use variations like size and number of letters to make a price. Then get the file after the sale.

The way I understand it he can't give them a price until he sees the picture, he can't be having them pay a random flat rate just to get their email and then asking for more later if the picture they send costs more to make than the normal price.

eBay can't read emails.
With the current iron-handed attempt to control offsite transactions, I can't think of an alternative way for the seller to get what is needed to construct the item.
eBay isn't right for every item.
