This is the first time this has ever happened. I'm insulted by the accusation. I had a t-shirt recently reported as being counterfeit by the license holder. As a seller I have no recourse, I appealed to ebay but they ruled against me. This was expected. However, I sent an email to the license holder but haven't heard back yet. The issue for me is that the product was purchased a while back from the license holder's outlet store. It's their shirt and now they flag the shirt as being fake. What's right about that? My issue is if it's fake then they sold the fake item. Has anyone ever had an item removed because it was said it didn’t follow the VeRO Unauthorized Item Policy? If so, was it warranted and how did you respond? Btw the way this was an item I was listing for $7.

It can happen more if it's listed as New.
Some companies are very strict about their brand.
Since you acquired it by retail for resale then they report it as unauthorized copy.
Since in their mind the fact you aren't an authorized seller it's not possible you can sell new.
Personally I don't waste my energy on them on eBay. I just move it over to Mercari.

By the way the UPC code on the tag of the item that was flagged brings up the exact same item using one of the online barcode look-up sites.

None of that matters.
Plenty of apple products that have correct UPCs and valid SNs that are fake.
It could be perfectly authentic, however eBay is going to take their word over yours.
They most likely just don't want you selling their product.

What was the item / brand?
What exactly did the notification say?
I notice you have a few listings using stock images, that could be a problem for you.

Thanks for the response. They did reverse the decision for me. Those particular items were purchased a long time ago. So I did not have the receipts but they were satisfied they are authentic.

Thanks for the response. I had two more get flagged after that by the same company. However, one used stock images but the other did not. It was not a matter of stock images but I'm going to change that over the holidays. Appreciate the comment. Thankfully, they reversed the decision after reviewing it. I'm not going to list the company that flagged the item.
eBay sends a generic email that states:
"We had to remove your listing because it didn’t follow our VeRO Unauthorized Item Policy. Unauthorized copies or counterfeits are illegal and not allowed on eBay"
Then it goes on to detail the policy and list the steps to appeal. A person appeals first to ebay and then to the license holder. A company call redpoints appears to use AI to flag products.
Best,
