We keep getting reported for selling cough syrup. There are over 100 listings of the exact same products, of which some have multiples in the offerings. We have been reported twice in a week. We cant get Ebay to answer emails or a call back. We are not doing anything sleazy, nor would we. We have two cough syrup brands reported. We want to counter the complaint . T hank you.

While your trying to get an answer for eBay, don't try to list them again if you don't want to be suspended.
You can ask for eBay to give you a call back at the bottom of this page.

Good luck.

I don't know if there's anything special about medicine expiration dates, but in other areas of life - credit card expiration, for example - they occur at the END of the period stated, not the beginning as you suggest. Applying my example, the medication would expire 7/31. Expiration, in my experience, is synonymous with "good through".

I don't know when the listing was removed. It was still active on July 10, but it might have been removed more recently, closer to the end of the month. But, just going by the strict wording of the policy, if it expires July 2020, then it would have to be delivered to the buyer *before* July 2020.
I didn't see anything else about the listing that I thought would be an issue, just that one. Unless you can find something else that's a problem, then we have to go with this.
I certainly would not have bought it.

That's not the listing reported. We agree with that decision. We recieved some expired cough syrup and some that was ok. Were referring to the mucinex listing removed. That listing is not expired!. There are 20 of the exact same item. Some are expired, ours is not. How do we counter this removal?

That is a cancelled option. All I get is a robot.

The mucinex was reported the other day.

Selling expired medicine and in fact any medicine should be banned completely. If you go to drug store you have to actually sign for in since it can be used to make illegal killing drugs. If you do it again you will most likely be banned from Ebay.

Completely wrong and you are are suggesting something that could get someone killed. Also it is made in Mexico making someone's chances extremely good of being sick.

Wow. Consumers are killed by taking medications during the month of expiration? That's crazy. Perhaps FDA should look into that - why medications like cough syrup or whatever can go from "safe" to "deadly" within weeks of expiration. Kind of makes me never want to take an allergy tablet again.

The cached listing clearly stated Expiration date: 7/2020. It was active on July 10, 2020, and has now been removed.
You can't have contradictory information in your listings, such as a description that doesn't match the pictures. That is also a violation that can result in a listing being removed. So, if that was the case, then there were at least two violations in that listing that was removed.
"We want to counter the complaint" -- I don't know what you mean by that. That listing that was removed, was correctly removed for violating policy. You will need to be careful to avoid violations in the future.

eBay listings are not just removed because of the item itself or the expiration date. Many times a listing is removed because of HOW an item is listed, not because of WHAT item listed. Keyword spamming and duplicate listings can get them pulled.
Also, eBay's over-the-counter medication policy says that the concentration of the medication must "clearly state the concentration of the prescription drug in the description". Did yours?
What did eBay state as the reason the listing was removed? Did they send you a message with the removal that gave any indication of the reason?
