Can someone explain to me how to request a correction to the eBay catalog? The eBay catalog has taken a number of my items and listed them as CDs based on the UPC. My UPC is correct and I can prove it with photos but the items are not CDs they are audio cassettes and I have already had to cancel an order and pull others from my eBay store because of eBay's inaccurate catalog. I have thousands of listing that preexisted the whole catalog system and contain UPCs so I have no idea how many eBay has changed to now contain errors and reassigned to the wrong category because of what their catalog says. It is confusing my customers and harming my record when I am forced to cancel as a result of eBay's catalog. eBay help says under the section title Contributing changes to a product in the catalog "Select Search. When you've found the product you want to submit changes for, choose See details and then Update product information." but when I click on see details there is no "Update product information." to click on.

You need to post on the Product Catalog Board:
https://community.ebay.com/t5/Product-Catalog/bd-p/ProductCatalog
But it's not easy, either getting their attention or explaining so they understand. Need to use specific examples with links to incorrect product pages and your item listing that is involved, with screen shots, especially of things like the no Update product information. If you have submitted stuff that they have declined, you need to give them the submission ID #.
Once you have their attention, the problems can be solved, but it can take time........
I know NOTHING about your items, but looked at some.....I would suggest that you put the format in the title.....as you have in some, but not all, items. Your (our) titles don't always survive as the title in the PP pages......but that could help until all this gets straightened out.....IF the buyer actually sees it.

I will repost there but changing the Title is not the solution because it will still be miscategorized and contain incorrect product information stating that it is a CD. If they are buying based on the catalog as they are or will be under the product-based shopping experience that eBay is introducing they will likely never even see my title. Fixing the catalog is the only real solution. In any case I am not asking about a specific listing as having to write a post for each single one would just be a waste of time. My question is about the supposed process for requesting changes be made and the information given for doing so in eBays help document seems to refer to a method that doesn't exist.

I've read that it can be very hard to get changes made, but good luck to you.

I had the same issue a few weeks ago. I reported this issue and I am still waiting for an answer on it. My listing went to their product catalog and entered all of the wrong information in the listing and there was no way to change any of it. I did a work around by removing the UPC and just used "Does not apply". When I did that I could use everything in the listing I wanted and not some false info. I think that there are sellers who intentionally add item to the catalog with false information or they don't know what they are doing.

I’ve given up on the Product Catalog.
Every time I’ve gone to relist one of my items, (using Sell Similar), I’ve had to jump through hoops, taking DAYS, not the 24 hrs like they say, to get it shoehorned in. And these are items I’ve ALREADY added weeks ago. Their brain dead programming can’t recognize that the items were successfully added to their catalog a month ago.
I’ve been deleting the items and listing elsewhere. Ebay is not the only game in town any longer, and these ridiculous roadblocks are not worth my time to list an item selling for less than $20.

This ^^^
As long as we are still allowed to use "Does not apply" and are not relegated to the dumpster level of sales, that's the only way I know to get around the catalog.
I had to "change" one not too long ago but of course it didn't work. Picture shows one thing; my item is another version of the same thing. MPNs are different, UPCs are different, but the catalog must be picking up the product name. I finally gave up and put lots of underlined/highlighted detail in my listings about the differences and if you buy mine, no, you will not get the white one or the new model. Mine is a different color and more desirable older model.
In this particular case, before I caved and did what ebay wanted I kept getting error warnings saying I had the wrong information and my item wasn't being seen. Which somehow contradicted the views/watchers counts but whatever...who knows what to believe in those situations.
The product catalog is one hot mess and will continue to get hotter as ebay continues to try to implement it. It took how many years to deliver the final version of Cassini? And look at how well that's working...
