I was watching quite a few Youtube videos and some are saying that if you do not have watchers and have not sold anything on that item and if there are 300 views, you should delete it and relist it so it gets a new item number. What are people's thoughts on that?

Well, if it is on YouTube, then it must be true, right?
Question. What works for you? Every has an opinion. Take what works for you from what learn from others, and file the rest. For most, it is trial and error, no matter what someone else says.

I don't usually decide that based on views or watchers. If I have a listing that is coming up on its 3 or 4 month renewal and haven't had any sales, I end it. Then I make some minor changes to the listing and relist.
I can't say for sure that helps but it does get that listing on buyers newly listed searches for a little while.

In the situation you described you're probably ranking lower in search. You don't have to end and relist. You can get a search boost by filling out missing item specifics or adjusting the price. I don't know how long your item has been listed though. If it's been a year I would end it. If it's only been 3 months I would leave it up and make some revisions.

end and sell similar yes it works I do it at least every other month I just got a sale today on one I ended and sold similar. Just what I do give it a try if you want for sure none of my items have 300 views. If they did and have not sold I would reduce price and sell similar

If it's getting views, just let it go.
Some items take a little while to find the right buyer.

Anything that has 300 views and no buyer is something that is listed as a museum piece that the seller just wants to feel good about showing it off. It is definitely over-priced or there would have been a buyer. Relisting at the same price with the same item will do no good at all unless you get really lucky and catch a sucker or a rich person that money is of no concern.

If you are getting 300 views and no one is buying, IMHO you need to take an objective look to determine what it is about your listing that is turning people off and causing them to leave without purchasing.

I have a 33 month old listing with 738,689 views and another that's been up for 31 months with 250,560 views. I have no idea what caused that, but I can guaranteed those were not just casual lookers (probably some bot or developer test). Anything with no action, and views like that, has got to be in the dumpster for surfacing in search. Nonetheless, watching the hit counter is kind of fun, so I just let them tick upward.
eBay's basic concept is that if people are looking, and then turning away with no action, the item is not worth it, so it drops in search. That is the reason for the "end and relist" recommendations that will clear that stale-item history that had put the item at the bottom of best match. The magic number will surely vary by category.
We have also seen that eBay may simply end listings that have lingered too long on the site with no activity, when posted in a category that generally has good turnover. The recommendation for stale items is to retitle, reprice, take new photos, write a new description, or add better item specifics in order to better attract buyers.
There are a few "long tail" categories where nothing will improve an item's performance, and I think eBay has a good idea which categories are involved. Items in those categories may just sit there, sometimes for years, until the right buyer comes along; and no adjustments to title, price, or other details will change that "long tail" performance.
