I recently started selling and I got a message from somebody today telling me that my PayPal wasn't working properly. I think I have resolved the issue by syncing it somewhere else but how can I know that it is working before I continue selling?
All you can do is look at the paypal address in each of your listings, making sure it is spelled exactly correctly. The person that messaged you may be a scammer that is trying to get your paypal address so they can send you a fake paypal paid email.
I linked the paypal to my ebay account. The sold page shows "Buyer hasn't paid yet" then in the listing "
Sold on:Mar 24 * Buyer: ------" and under the details it said "This order was not successful. Payment for this order has failed. " These messages are just a little misleading for a new seller like me so I am not sure whether to ship it or wait longer.
The paypal address for getting paid is the one specified in each of your listings. The paypal linking you refer to is just for paying for items or shipping. It can be completely different from the one in your listings. Go back to the listing you just sold and click on "sell similiar." Then you can review what paypal address was in the listing. If you don't see the money in your paypal account you do not ship.
I'm not sure if it still works, but at one time new sellers who were still working with Holds on payments could still use those Held funds to buy shipping labels.
If there was no cleared payment being Held, the seller could not buy a shipping label.
