I do not understand why U.S. history is not revered. I just tried to post three 1861 civil war patriotic covers and received the "banned" notice. This is our nations history, is this an agenda to not recognize the facts, is it revisionist history? This is not hate. There were 11 states that wanted this, they just happened to lose the vote. This is free speech. Sweep it under the rug and participate in an agenda that looks to modify history according to their values and interests. Aside from the fact that it kills off the collectible market for this patriotic covers category. Only northern civil war illustrations are allowed? Take about censoring, this is it 100%. What does this community think? In any case, I will only list northern attitude messages and images.

Confederate flags on ebay create more bad press for ebay than they ever would revenue, thus they are banned, along with a whole lot of other items and symbols that while they may be historical they also attract bad press and tend to be of the most "historical interest" to those who indeed hold the viewpoints associated with them.
Some above said America is set for another Civil war. Never going to happen, we no longer live in a world where that is really possible. National guard units even if they go rogue have zero chance against the greater military might of the US. While all the full time military units are going to be composed of soldiers from the entire country, who are not likely to follow illegal orders to try to break away individual states. And while the local civilian population in the more gun loving states could probably outmatch their local police departments they would have no chance against the larger military.
Civil wars in the modern world largely happen in already ruined countries with military forces that are closer to world war II era in equipment than they are to the jets, tanks boats and missiles of the modern US military.

This is free speech
Your free speech rights do not extend to eBay.
But eBay's right to run their business as they see fit does extend to eBay.
I do not understand why U.S. history is not revered
IMHO not every aspect of US history deserves to be "revered".

They aren't. And "free speech" does not apply. This is not a government site nor is the government infringing on your right to say anything.

"I do not understand why U.S. history is not revered."
Fear of retaliation by those that don't hurting their bottom line. Even most entrepreneurs with fyou money don't want to alienate any customers or deal with any controversial backlash.

“This is not hate. There were 11 states that wanted this, they just happened to lose the vote.”
Now, that’s either a huge euphemism or actual revisionist history.

Ours is not to reason why.
I had a beautiful vintage textile taken down because it was made in Iran.
eBay doesn't care if it was made before the revolution.
I think it's sad that a textile cannot be sold and appreciated, but it's not my decision to make.

"looking to modify history according to their values and interests" 🙄

Under the title "Confederate Flags", this sentence in the original post:
"Aside from the fact that it kills off the collectible market for this patriotic covers category."
eBay is not the only collectible marketplace for any/everything related to the historic Confederate States of America.
I believe there are large parts of the nation and several organizations whose entire reason for existing are to keep those ideologies alive . . . . . For some reason, the letter "K" is occurring to me . . . . . . .

Ok fine, take it there if you must. Signing off. Thanks all for the discussion.

Even the US Park Service is engaging in revisionist history WRT to the Confederate flag. All the interpretive films I've seen at battlefields have the Confederates carrying the Stars and Bars flag rather than the one they actually carried. Stupid.

ebay makes the rules.
I had a necktie taken down. It was a novelty necktie aimed at cigar aficionados...and featured graphics of actual Cuban cigars. It was in the clothing category. The word Cuba was not in the title nor in the item specifics. However, I had made the mistake of mentioning in the description that the tie is made in the US, and the cigars in Cuba.
ebay's vigilant bots apparently read the description, saw the word "Cuba" and the tie was taken down because my item---a Made in USA necktie--- violated the Cuban embargo.
The Magic of ebay's AI at work I guess LOL

Because they are being forced to do this stuff. And I agree it simply isn't right.

Not words I would use in the context of a battle flag that originated when the US was ripped in half.

@luckythewinner hit the nail on the head.
There is good history and there is bad history.

Ebay rules aside, your flag represents racism, bigotry and the right to own other human beings. To my mind it is in the same class as German national socialism items.
