Concerned about a bidder in an auction, should I cancel their bid?

I'm selling a phone I didn't particularly like.  I've had a few messages asking me how much to buy it not or offering me low ball numbers to sell it to them off ebay.  I had a buy it now on it, but someone bid, so it's gone.  I got some of these messages pre bidder. Either way, not interested in that.  Except one of them bid.  I'm debating cancelling their bid, as they only have 1 feedback and don't seem to understand how ebay works.  I want whatever the least amount of drama is.  It's being watched by a lot of people so unlikely they will end up winning.  Should I cancel it or leave it alone and see what happens?

If you want the least amount of drama, cancel the bid, end the listing and relist at a fixed price with immediate payment required. ( I THINK you can cancel a bid safely, I don't really do auctions so I'm not really sure)

The easier you are to offend the easier you are to control.

I agree with @southern*sweet*tea : Your best chance of successfully selling the phone is to cancel the current auction and then relist in fixed price format. Use the Advanced (not Quick) version of the listing form, so you can check off "Immediate payment reuquired."  To end a listing early, use this form:

You are a scam magnet selling a newer phone.

Ebay is well known for this problem.

Cancel listing and sell it locally only.

Will the seller be charged FVF ending a listing with bids?????

Yes, but they usually give the seller a pass if it's the first time they've done it.

How do you mean?  I’ve sold other iPhones and such on here. I’ve had these weird offers but never anyone bidding after making one.

That action alone isn't particularly weird: they made an offer, you declined it, so at this point, their only other option is to bid on it, which they did. I frequently get offers or requests for a BuyItNow price on some newly-listed item I've put up, and when I decline it, some will go elsewhere while others will stick around and bid.

Aside from that, though, it's true that you are selling a highly-scammed item and you're a prime target, so if you are going to plow ahead with this, follow the advice given here, and be sure to get back to us if anything further seems to be going weird on you.

Just leave them alone let them be the price driver. If they end up winning the item make sure and cross all your Ts and dot your Eyes so you don't get your clock cleaned....
