Community Connection Thread: Spring Cleaning!

Hello everyone!

It’s that time of year again and we’re getting ready to do our spring cleaning. Who doesn’t love a fresh start and a clean living space?

For our topic this time, we want to know what are your go-tos and tips for creating a sparkling abode? Any specific cleaners or steps you take that help you stay organized? We’d love to hear them!

As always please keep the conversation on topic and be respectful of each other. This thread will remain open from 4.7.2021 to 4.17.2021.

Ohhh no....you are wrong about Phyllis Diller's advise.    IMO, one of her best quotes was "You can turn these knobs all day, but the face won't change!    aaahhhh, aaahhhh, aaahhhh   (Phyllis laughing)

As for clearing out,  just open the car trunk and throw it in.  Then drive to the thrift shop and throw it out.

I"m leaning to clean items when I get them, not after I took the picture.

I also learned that a messy desk will make me crabby.  So I cleaned and hope to keep it that way.

I was the Clean Desk maniac when I worked as a senior editor.  I even put reference books back after I had used them.  People would leave a pen on my desk and I'd glare at it.

The biggest reason being that if I let up, at all, my desk would be almost immediately avalanched with piles of paper, disks and books, because keeping up with the work was like shoveling sand against the tide.  Fortunately, I had enough room.  Here at home...not enough room - and it does make me crabby, yes.

"Dear Husband" or "Darling Husband" - sometimes meant ironically but in my case it's sincere LOL.
