Welcome to our first engagement post of 2021! We plan to post a fun off-topic thread every two weeks so we can learn more about one another. After two weeks, we’ll post a new fun topic.
Our first topic is pets (how could it be anything else?) 😀 We know we have a lot of avid pet owners and it certainly brightens our days to see you share stories and pictures about them.
This is your chance to tell us all about your pets’ quirks, personalities and most importantly, sharing lots of pictures. We want to see those cute little faces.
As always please keep the conversation on topic and be respectful of each other. This thread will remain open from 1.29.2020 to 2.11.2021.

This is Reggie our pit/ boxer mix. We adopted him from a rescue group as a puppy, he's 3 now.
Something that pits are known for is the head lean and he does it well. He will stand and lean with his head on your leg or wherever until he gets what he wants for as long as a half-hour before he gives up. He usually wants his ball or a walk.
His favorite game is for us to hide the ball and then he hunts for it.

" "Please adopt a rescue pet if you can"
All my animals for the last (gasp) fifty years have been rescues, every single one.

"
Unfortunately, Elvis was never found....
It was a week of hope, walking around and putting up posters with a not so happy ending.
Thank you for sharing and asking.
G."
Sadly, I have been there too. I share your heartache. I still tear up about my first dog Siah, who was dumped as a pup at a recycle center. He went missing and I haunted the pound, did the flyers everywhere and even pried the phone number of the crew who has the unenviable task of retrieving dead animals from the road. He was also never found. I can only hope to this day that a family took him in and loved him as much as I did. That was fifty years ago. Bojangles got nothing on me...

A friend of mine has two Rotties (Meatball and Nugget) and a Great Dane (Colby Jack). She likes big dogs! They are all fabulous dogs. My dog Chloe is best dog friends with Meatball, she cries whenever she sees him.

@mcdougle4248 Those names totally cracked me up! Just like pits, it's all about how they are raised. Rotties can be such sweet dogs.

Beautiful! Love the names, lol! I raised macaws for years and they were named after vacuum cleaners. Hoover, Kirby, Oreck and and Regina, etc., 🙂
