Colored text on listings.

Has anyone noticed when you try to enter colored text on a listing the available colors are now different? The They are not the usual "normal" colors i'm used to seeing.  Different than the colors available here on the boards.  Anyone else experiencing this?  Anyone know why?

Re: Colored text on listings.

You guys just proved my point in a way..... Dark mode did not work for you...... Should it now be banned or not offered? Many more people can and do like dark mode. Why is your not liking it more important than someone  else's chose to use it. There is enough stuff and enough sheets on eBay that surely you will find one that chooses not to use a color in their listing. Red fits not prevent someone from using the platform to it's fullest.

Just a thought...... Traffic lights use a bright red light to grab your attention and it means STOP. There is a reason it's not a muted shade of burgundy.  Nobody questions traffic lights do they? They are their to protect and save lives because red stands out and it's universally understood.

And mam... It is woke. I don't like the word either or movement but it's a reality of a new mentality. It's based on an emotion and not reality. If eBay had actual sales data that said red color prevents sales, it would be one thing... But they don't-

yeah... all this color talk is fascinating but someone wants to doll up their listing like the reading rainbow, go ahead, can't say it will look good or even attract a buyer, but whatever their heart desires.

Side note, I only use one color in listings and that is Black - the only time I use any other it is Red and only for 1 word "NOTE" in description up at top, to make sure those non-reading buyers see it (incase they missed it in title) that there is something like a Corner Ding or Jacket Crease to the item...that's it.

The great truth is there isn't one

Re: Colored text on listings.

WHAT?  I have never said anything remotely like that.  On this subject or any other that requires a choice.

You are trying very hard to present something as coming from me that I never said or implied.  Don't do that just to try and get your point across.  Passing incorrect info is also against the community rules.

Again "woke" is over used and often incorrectly used as it has been here by you.

My guess is it's a slow adjustment into the future where no colors will be available in the listing format.   Nothing but eBay's preferred 14-point black text.

Re: Colored text on listings.

How do you access the brighter colors to select them? I have been on ebay since 2003, and I took a break, and I was shocked to see the horrid colors they are offering now. It's an insult to the eyes in my opinion. Thanks for any help you can give me.

Re: Colored text on listings.

How did this thread get resurrected from 10 months ago?  LOL

Anyways, I know there are lots of ways to do it, but this is what I do.

Just type what you want, in the bright color(s) you want, here on the boards.

Just like this.

Then copy and paste in into your listing.

Easy.

@inhawaii

For myself I have never used anything other than black in the standard font and text size eBay provides.  I have seen way too many listings where Sellers go nuts with different colors and fonts and text sizes ... perhaps thinking they are creating an award winning add when in fact they aren't.   The time involved with those creations to me isn't worth the effort.

Of course that is just my opinion, others may see it differently.

Re: Colored text on listings.

In my opinion, using colors does not help. I will stay away from colored text in highlighting anything in the listing, just state it. in title/Description. Colors are annoying to me.
