Has anyone seen this new layout for listings? I have a button on my last listing called 'click button to view entire description'.
There is a completely blank screen unless one clicks that button. There is NO description of the item for sale until you click this button and then the description opens in a separate window.
What is this all about - an I in a test group?

My whole description of my item fits in the description area that ebay gives us. I haven't been opted into this test as I cannot find any options to click to view descriptions. Is it the ebay description box or the whole blah blah description area that we type that is hidden? Mine are the same. If I have to use more space than that it cannot be listed here because it would never be read.....and then trouble starts. Where is the ebay description block being displayed?

What do you mean by ebay description box? Do you mean that box that appears up near the top of the listing for Condition? If so, I didn't think that could be used for anything other than elaborating on the condition of the item. I found this when I did some searching about that box:
We encourage you to use the condition description for all of your notes about your item's condition. (Please don't use the item description for this.)

Yup, no listing condition box with new items. I only sell pre-owned and my whole description fits right into that condition box that ebay gives us. Like I said, if I need more than that, I won't list it here as I just KNOW there will be problems.
Do the PR sellers sell anything not new? (listed as new but really used, but those don't exist, right?). If you list new you don't get that box, only the description area, the area that ebay will not defend.
I use every single Item Specific and the condition box that follows Item condition: for all of my text. I don't really care if the Item Description shows as it is the same, but I could see where a new item would be naked without it.
If you check out an item on the River though, you will see that the Item Description is pretty distant from the item itself and the price and the shipping. It's buried at the bottom. Does that lend any light here?

Maybe I'm missing something but when I relisted a few items - the only time I have an item condition box is for used items. If I'm selling new in box - I have no item condition box to put in sizes and dimensions or particulars.
I believe that is correct. The Item Condition Field box only shows up for used items.

Under the Condition box is a "Seller's Notes" section, that I use for my entire description.

Those seller's notes are only supposed to be clarifications of the item condition. At one time I remember it being discussed that putting something else in that box would be a policy violation but I don't think they ever followed through with it.

Well that is scarey.... if they disappear. I usually describe in more detail the item's condition there and anything else that will fit. This will be interesting to see. Spring Update should be coming any day now and this will be the knife.
