Can ebay put a box to check at the end of our decription so we know if the buyer has read the description or looked at the pictures before we package and ship the item?

Can they? Yes. Will they? I doubt it.

That's a very interesting idea! But way too bothersome for buyers and helpful for sellers. I like it, tho...

@todayitsforsale - I understand your point and where you are going with this suggestion and actually think you have some validity, however I for one would never agree as a buyer to be forced to read every description. The reason I say this is because I continually come across listings where sellers write an entire book, seriously an entire book. It's not about having too much description, I don't believe a seller can over describe their item, it's about their silly "rules".
For example--
I only sell to certain buyers who live in certain places;
If you have a rating of less then blank don't even bother to bid;
If you purchase from us we do not accept any returns for any reason or have any desire to entertain any reasons why you don't love our items;
Do not ask me to combine your items or package carefully or list it as a gift to save you on import fees;
Do not send me any offers even though the offer button is there because I didn't place it on there and I refuse to recognize that it is actually there so I am telling you not to send me any offers;
I'm not a real business, just a regular mom and pop who have blank number of grandchildren and who love to shop so we've accumulated this many items and have no room for them plus we're retired and the dog needs a new milk bone so that's why we're on here selling....
ad nauseum....
