Can someone please tell me how you go about sending a buyer an invoice for additional shipping? The buyer requested expedited shipping and owes me a few more dollars for it. I can't for the life of me find out how that's done...Plenty of things to click on to refund a buyer but no way of invoicing them for when they owe you?? Thanks!

I just create a listing with the title of FOR (buyers username) Additional Shipping Fee and set it up as a regular listing with the price. Granted ebay still takes the percent but that's the only way I have ever been able to get it done other than PayPal

Ask for their PayPal email and send them a money request. Or tell them yours and they can just send it.

I have this problem too . This is very important

My answer to these requests is "Please send an extra XXX amount plus $10 for special treatment and to literally drive your item to the post office ten minutes after you pay for this extra service. If they haven't paid yet it can be added to their original invoice. I don't know if ebay would squawk about have the extra postage being paid directly through PayPal. They couldn't charge final value fees on it and might have to close down...

I just ran into this issue too. I couldn't figure out how to do it on eBay either.

This was something that was easier to do when everything ran through PayPal. Something eBay needs to address.

Thanks...I've heard of using PayPal like this before...the email address I have attached to my PayPal account is my personal email address, and I really don't want to give that out to buyers. eBay always seems to make a stink out of giving out personal info. I have Square but that would require the buyer to give me their CC info, so that's no going to work through eBay messages.
I find it amazing that eBay has a lot of different ways you can save buyers money or refund them, but no way of collecting extra fees when necessary without breaking their policies. And we can all forget eBay's abysmal automated help chat line or getting anyone on the phone who knows anything beyond what the automated chatter can tell you. I've been okay with covering a $1 or 2 when shipping runs over, but this particular order is $8 over on an item that sold for $22. The buyer is very willing to cover the charge. Her phone # is listed...what's your opinion on me calling her direct so I can run it on my square device?

That's an interesting idea...I'll think about it...Thanks!

Just give them the address, once they use it for the Paypal transfer you can block any sender if you receive unwanted mail from them, but I think you are seeing problems where there aren't any.
You could give them your check acct details I guess so they can direct deposit, but if you don't do one or the other, you won't be getting paid.

If you go into your sold items and select "send invoice" it doesn't allow you to modify it in any way anymore prior to sending? I know you can add additional discounts, etc. That would be the easiest way if it works. Also you can't get email addresses send to you via ebay's messaging system it's been that way for around a decade because people were just emailing each other and buying things to circumvent fees and post spam & scams.

There usually are no extra fees for eBay on a shipping upgrade. FVF's are based on the lowest shipping price offered in the listing regardless of what the buyer pays.
The total amount of the sale includes the item price, any handling charges, the shipping service the buyer selects, sales tax, and any other applicable fees. If you offer 1-day or international shipping as well as a cheaper or free option (like domestic shipping), the total amount of the sale is calculated based on the cheapest domestic option you offer. If you only offer 1-day or international shipping but no cheaper option like domestic shipping, the total amount of the sale is calculated based on the service the buyer chooses.

Thanks for being helpful, but I'd rather lose the $8 then give anyone my checking account info through such an insecure platform. I also don't think I'm making a mountain out of a mole hill. eBay makes a lot of money...a lot...and they do it off the sales of their sellers. Buyers have many requests; upgrading shipping services is very common and eBay has a responsibility to make such transactions seamless. As a Top Rated Seller, I jump through a lot of hoops to maintain that status, a lot is expected of me, while their own customer service sucks. If it didn't, I wouldn't be trying to find an answer to something that should be a simple thing to solve.

I've triple checked...there's no "send invoice" option...but thanks...

Thanks for your response, I understand their fee structures..
