Chargeback strange process

A buyer lost a case on E* for fit, and then 3 weeks later filed a

chargeback with his bank with PP and claimed not as described.

I submitted info. along with the actual words the buyer wrote

about being a fit issue. Copy/pasted directly from the case.

PP said on case that funds were released

and I didn't need to do anything else.

A month goes by and reps tell me funds will not be taken after being

released. This sale was a new in box item that I reduced to less than 50%

to move out inventory. I was also hit hard with free ship, about $20.00

coast to coast.

Suddenly, weeks later, there appears a neg. balance on PP with an additional $20.00

added to the original amount. I called and was transferred to a non english

speaking person that yelled 3 times "that way is"

That total is is now showing neg 119.99 on PP.

Bizarre thing is, I am getting emails saying balance is $70.00.

It tells me to call a number and make payment.

Yeah, not calling any numbers in an email.

I can't find this phone # attached to PP in anyway on the net.

Does anyone have any idea why emails would say $70.00 instead of $120.00?

Could someone with PP be pulling a scam to get any amount of funds?

My trust level is gone. My payment methods are closed and my bank blocked PP.

JMO, never believe anything that you are told. PP always treated me great until

this crazy incident. Things seem to be getting strange now that E* is changing payment

processors.

Should I have expected PP to be more transparent about what was going on and the process or am I expecting to much? In the past, I have easily gotten an english speaking rep that was helpful.  Tonight I got an email that was for the most part in another language. I could piece together words pay pal restricted with characters not on my keyboard between the letters and I have no idea what language the remainder of the email was in.

None of this seems normal to me. PP no longer seems to be the PP that I knew. What is going on? Does anyone have any ideas?

Re: Chargeback strange process

I would call paypal back. From their website not from the message of course. Stay on the phone until someone can answer you as to what is going on. Try calling in the morning 9:00 to 11:00 EST to get someone who can speak english. (hopefully)

Re: Chargeback strange process

When Paypal emails you, they send you an email telling you have you have message within THEIR site and their own on-site communications system. You then log in to www.paypal.com to see the email on the site to verify it is legitimate.

As far as detaching your bank from Paypal and all that, that's all fine and good, but please note they can still send it to collections and trash your credit.

I'd highly recommend continuing to work this out with Paypal and not just thinking it will go away or something.

Re: Chargeback strange process

Id say whatever rep released the funds initially made a mistake.   If the credit card decided to refund the buyer you're responsible.  A snad chargeback is the one chargeback PayPal doesn't have seller protection for.
