Most on this topic are old. Here is my case. On April 14th I sold a silver bar for $965.59. As a top rated seller I have to furnish tracking anyway. The buyer received it as shown by the tracking. On July 28th they told their credit card company they didn't recognise the transaction. On the 29th I sent tracking info on the eBay link. It showed it was sent to their bank Aug 3rd. eBay immediately held all the payments for my sales after that. The buyers name coincidently was associated with silver. I believe that they did this because of a loss in silver value. Banks allow chargebacks usually up to 6 months where eBay requires contested items much less. August 28th my payments were finally released. Though buyers need protection on stolen/hijacked accounts, it is too bad there is not action for fradulent claims.

I immediately placed the buyer on my blocked bidders list. It would be nice if it is shown how many items a bidder has chargebacked when bidding.

I don't believe that information is available to eBay at that point in time, if ever.
