Hi guys hoping for some advice in how to proceed here now, I had a chargeback for a item raised on the 24th for not as described very surprised as the item was delivered over 5 months ago however eBay assured me if I supplied evidence I would win the claim ….. so I immediately responded to claim attached all evidence including what the buyer had received and was informed I would here back between 2 weeks and 30 days HOWEVER I had a email from eBay today informing me the case had been closed in the buyers favour even though this was a fraudulent chargeback I was told by eBay to reach out to PayPal and this is where it gets interesting PayPal have confirmed that no such outcome has been reached and the case is indeed open and still under investigation and the only message they sent to eBay was that they had received the evidence and to place the funds on hold yet eBay decided to simply close it so I called eBay who refuse to acknowledge this including the email PayPal have sent confirming that the case is open and yet to be concluded and will not accept confirmation from PayPal showing this and just refuse to assist so what I thought was a buyer simply winning the chargeback is now something far more complex that I don’t know how to proceed as eBay seem to have closed the case illegally without confirmation from the institution 🤷♂️

So sorry for your situation, but unfortunately this is the risk of selling on line. eBay did nothing illegal. If the credit card/Paypal dispute is granted, there is really nothing that eBay can do except close the case. Most likely Paypal's customer service is much like eBays. Outsourced in other countries and they know very little. They told you what you wanted to hear. I've dealt with them in the past and most are clueless.
Again very sorry for your frustration.

Hi apologies may not sound to clear in the post but eBay closed the chargeback case in the buyer’s favour without the institution making a decision PayPal confirmed the chargeback case is still open and no decision has yet to be made but eBay states it has ——- that’s where I’m at a loss I have it in writing that PayPal have not made a decision eBay is refusing to believe it despite PayPal sending eBay a notification informing them it’s open so I’m now financially at a loss it seems eBay have ruled in the buyers favour before the bank has even made a decision

Was it a case through Pay Pal or the buyers bank?
