Hello,
I need some help.
I have been selling on EBay for many years. Recently I have had a lot of fraud. “ Do not recognize transaction”. EBay has billed me back over 15k. The transactions are $400 each. I have proof of delivery and adult signature on each delivery.
i followed all procedures. They have honored fraud in the past. I look at the Seller Protection policy and don’t see why the are not honoring the transactions.
if I do not ship they will penalize me. If I ship I lose money.
thank you in advance for your help.

If buyers did charge backs from their banks , you get a case you then should have uploaded tracking in every case ebay usually refunds the buyer and also returns the money to you for the sales if POD proved (seller protection). If you did the tracking uploads to each case and they have not returned your money you need to get someone in the right ebay department either through ebay chat or on the phone. I'd contact ebay more than once if needed to resolve it. You can also get ebay for business on Facebook they are usually fairly quick to reply.
I'd seriously also look at why it continues to happen if its the same $400 product over and over again is it worth selling it considering the contant charge backs from multiple buyers?

I would certainly look into the original orders of those charged back items and see if there exist any similarities, it might be tough to nail down a cause or reason... I had a particular item some years ago, was only around $50 but over half were getting returned for reasons I had difficulty attributing, I eventually discontinued that item as was just suggested... I still have 30-40 of them, might relist them one day, maybe not...
It might not be fraud per se but it's certainly strange, again it can be hard to find cause or reason.
Might also see about contacting the bank(s) in question, although I realize in most of these situations we get stonewalled... Which is odd, since we're the ones losing out, we should be able to get answers to our questions.
Best of luck, I'd definitely look into cutting that loss out and quick.

Seems like scammers are attracted to the high end camera equipment you are selling. Scammers have nothing to lose and everything to gain (some people use this method to get items to resell on EBAY). According to EBAY if you use MANAGED PAYMENTS you will be notified of "chargebacks" and have 5 days to provide documentation (as shown below). Seems like you did everything right...why EBAY didn't rule in your favor is a mystery.
When a buyer reports that they don’t recognize the transaction:
You have provided proof of delivery, which includes all of the following:
- Tracking number provided by the shipping company (uploaded by the date in the payment dispute notification)
- A delivery status of "delivered"
- Date of delivery
- Recipient's address, matching the address on the order (including the city, county, zip code or international equivalent)
- Proof of signature confirmation if an order has a total cost (including shipping and taxes) of $750 or more, uploaded as an image while contesting the payment dispute

I have a feeling that many buyers are opening CC chargebacks due to the lack of MP info that defines the charge as an eBay sale (no mention of seller) with an odd number that the 'buyer' really does not recognize .
With that being said... are your problems with your GoPro Heros? Your buyers on those are all oddly 'new'. Hmmm...

Yes, this is a new type of charge back caused solely by ebay's refusal to provide more information to the payment source other than "paid to ebay".
No mention of the actual seller or the item purchased.
