I know there is an easy answer to this (but it's ebay so maybe not) and I've looked for quite some time with no success.
Have to ship a very heavy package to Way Out West and the listing specifically states UPS, with no other options. Ergo, buyer of course has a PO Box address. I've messaged the buyer twice, which is probably two times too many using the word "address", for a physical street address but no response.
I see no way of changing from UPS shipping to USPS in ebay shipping. USPS will cost a fortune but only slightly more than UPS. It's a big sale and I was charging a token shipping amount so I lose either way on shipping but had wiggle room. I know I can cancel with "problem with address" but see above re big sale.
Oh, forgot to mention the buyer has already sent me packing instructions. My spidey alert went off then. This is one of those "omg I've already spent so much time on this today" screamers.
And then, I get a question from someone else wanting to know if the widget is still available. Where were these people months ago ?? Although the second one did read as wanting to deal. Then I'd have to ask for zip code and get quadruple botzapped.

Can yu request the buyer's information and give them a call to see if he will accept shipping through another carrier.
Maybe sweeten the deal on postage to entice him. Seems like it would be worth it for such a great sale.

You could cancel using problem with address, but second buyer could back out and you would have lost the sale.

Covered bases with second buyer right away, lol.
I don't want to call anyone (never have) and this reseller is getting a really good deal. I dropped the price by $100 when I relisted it over the weekend - because I'm retiring and I mean it ! - and the widget sold in 10 minutes.

I think that contacting the buyer by phone is a good idea. If they do want the item send by USPS you should be able to print your label thorugh paypal.com/shipnow.

I use paypal/ship frequently for other things but have no idea if we get the commercial rate discount there; I think we do ? Click 'n Ship is godawful expensive.
I get a bit of a discount with UPS but does me no good if UPS won't ship to a po box.
Contacting someone who is a reseller, who has sent me very explicit packing instructions (oh as if I didn't know how), and didn't read the description is not high on my list. I'll do it tomorrow if I haven't heard from him (the beauty of 2-day handling).

Click N Ship only prints Priority Mail and they charge the retail rate, but Paypal charges the same online prices as we pay for ebay shipping labels, except TRS won't get their "Commercial Plus" discount, which saves about 3% on Priority Mail.
In this case, Parcel Select is probably cheaper than Priority Mail, so the postage cost would be the same as through eBay shipping.
By the way, you can set up a site preference to block bidders/buyers who have a PO Box as their primary shipping address.

I don't know the technicalities of how its done, but you can set up your parameters to block PO BOX addresses in payments for items where you've specified UPS as the method of shipment?
I know I get blocked fairly often and have to change my ship-to address from my default of my PO Box to my Street Address. Those blocks are automated by the eBay sellers I've bought from.
Of future use only. No use at all right now. 🙂

city - You're right; I forgot to block PO boxes with this listing. My "second" buyer is willing to wait on slower shipping; I can't get the first buyer to even answer messages about shipping.
Good to see you again !

Situation solved ! Buyer did get back to me with an address. Of course, it's an apartment ...
Thanks to all for the help.
