Changing from pick up to shipping

Hi there,

I have an item listed at the moment for local pick up only. A customer has asked if I would ship it (with them paying postage).

I am willing to do this, is there a way for me to convert the listing so that specific person can buy the item with postage + labels etc without anyone else having the chance?

Thanks in advance!

No. But you can change it from local pickup to shipping, bump up the price pretty high to turn off others, and add the best offer option. Only accept an offer from the buyer you're in talks with.

Have you ever shipped a guitar? It can be a tricky process. If you're not an experienced shipper you'll want to be careful before making the decision to ship.

If you are shipping something big and heavy (expensive to mail), you need to keep in mind that eBay is going to charge their final value fee on the shipping cost and the additional tax cost too. Good luck.

Great info, thank you. I haven't shipped one before but have received plenty and kept the packing materials, I think it should be alright, unless you aren't referring specifically to packing?

UPS and FED EX usually sell new guitar boxes that are great for shipping guitars.

It is a good idea to loosen the strings (whole step) and put padding behind the neck/headstock to protect form impact. Keep enough room on each side of the box to add a good amount of packing. Double box if you can and if you can afford to ship 1-3 day air, the faster it gets there the better. Also check the weather so your instrument does not get stuck in limbo where the environment can damage the instrument. (temp/humidity) If you need any specific help, PM me directly and I can walk you through the process.

-Good luck
