Is there a way to change how long an offer is sent to a buyer? I’ve received offers that are good for 24 hours from sellers but every time I send an offer to buyers they last 48 hours, which is often too long

Wow! So it has not occurred to you that there are eBay buyers who are not checking their eBay information 24/7?

No. There is no such setting. I am with you, as far as only sending an offer for 24 hours, rather than 48 hours.

As far as I can tell, there's almost no point in sending an offer to a buyer unless it's good for 6 months, the average time it takes for a buyer to come back and check their offers.

Why is that too long? A pending offer does not stop you from accepting an offer from someone else or from someone using 'buy it now'.

I never used this function but did sometime last week. Today I go to the 3 items where I sent the offers & see no information whatsoever about my past offers I sent out.
Nothing about those offers.
I guess that means they are 100% finished.

Today I sent an offer and it is good for 4 days!!! Doing a google search on the subject it seems ebay has made a change to 4 days! without telling me. Even though someone can buy while offer is out, the seller can not send others offers while one is pending. I will be sending out offers far less now. I wish there was a preference for this instead of automatic. Now to go somewhere else to post that buyers can not receive negative feedback. Crazy. Got a non payer and now have to wait days to relist. I did see one positive feedback that buyer was a non payer. This positive feedback only for buyers makes buyer feedback useless and not honest. I will wait my time and then cancel with reason non payment. This will put a strike on that buyer or so I read. I have set not to sell to non payers but this buyer still was able to buy.

I will leave a positive with negative verbal feed back for this buyer as well in hopes to warn other sellers.

Violation eBay feedback policy ............................ for what.......................... someone else did and............ it did not help you.
Doing the non-pay will give the buyer a strike. 2 strikes for the buyer, and many sellers will have their requirements set to block that buyer.
