Change in eBay best offer algorithm?

Overnight, every single one of my items went from placing high in certain keywords, usually 1-2, to placing in the thousands for those same keywords. Nothing has changed that I can see, and eBay assures me that my account is in good standing, with no problems that they can detect. I even recently became a top rated seller. Does anyone know if there was a change in eBay's algorithm?

They changed something. I noticed yesterday that when I do my searches for books, that everything now goes to Best Match. For example, Before when I searched for Nancy Drew books: I type it in and it goes to Best Match, then I change to Newly listed. Then I click on one of the other titles of books that automatically appear at the top of the search, in this case other series books like Hardy Boys, Trixie Belden etc. Usually when I click on one of them it goes to that search and stays on Newly listed that I had put in.

Starting yesterday, it goes to Best Match whenever I click on one of them and I have to change it back to Newly listed everytime; very annoying and more time consuming.  If I type in the search I want, instead of clicking a choice, then it stays on my selection of Newly listed.  I also noted that Best Match is at the top of the list of choices when it used to be at the bottom. So yes, I think they did something, just not sure what!

Yeah, it was clear. I called eBay and they denied changing anything, but... something had to have happened haha

They actually placed a hold on an item earlier this week. I called n was told it was cuz I had low feedback. I requested to speak to a supervisor. I sternly explained that if they’re gonna start holding payments out of the blue, bcuz of no feedback being left then they need to force the buyer to leave said feedback......They lifted the hold.

Does anyone know if there was a change in eBay's algorithm?

It changes all the time.  The SEARCH feature can be manipulated.  That is why ebay likes it so much.

Changes...whatever they are hit me just this week...been placing in at least the top ten pages of best match at 25 items per page...my first item now shows up at page 17 of 200 items per page. Two top rated plus sellers I follow are now placing at page 19 and 24 (again at 200 items per page).

I'm selling miniature art at auction.  I rarely sell at starting bid because I have multiple bidders. But if they can't find me or if only one person sees it and bids then I wind up selling at either lower than I could have or not at all.

Debating on whether to just pull my pieces for now and wait and see if this works itself out or switch to buy it now at a set price. Did anyone having this problem earlier in the year have it correct itself after time? Maybe they were working on different areas of Ebay?

I've noticed a very recent change in search.  Despite using very specific search terms, more totally unrelated items are popping up in search.  

If I am looking for a doll, I am not looking for venetian blinds or face cream.

Are we talking about a Best Offer algorithm change or one to search?

Title indicates Best Offer; however, OP indicates search so the discussion proceeded from there.

Two hours later I searched again and it was back to what it normally is...most of the top rated sellers were back on the first few pages...two hours after that it was back to the way it was earlier...all of the top rated sellers had fallen throught the cracks and were at the back of the pack. So for some reason it's going back and forth so perhaps they are just adjusting things or doing some kind of maintenance.  If it is maybe it'll be over soon....or at least one can hope.
